Hooked battery up wrong on 1992 explorer, stereo smoked and now the windshield wipers won't shut off. No blown fuses just popped the line circuit from starter relay to alternator. Replaced battery starter relay, starter relay and coil. Getting no spark to coil. Why won't the wipers shut off?

You must RUN the scanner/computer for easy diagnostic, and fix it.
Remember the electronic vehicle is very complicated, You can have some faulty: PCM+ignition coil+BCM+sensor+etc.
see the diagram attached.

SOURCE: 1992 ford explorer..replaced head gaskets, coil

turn on your ignition and see if you have 12v on the plus side of the coil. if you don't then see if you have 12v at the plus side of any injector. if neither have it, then you have to check your asd relay.

Did you check your MAXI-fuses? Make sure you check these, as well.

Check the wiring, as well.

It could be the microcontroller.

Looking for the fuse for the wiper motor 2008 chevy impala

WPR fuse 25amp under hood fuse box .
Wiper/Washer System Components
The Wiper/Washer System consists of the following components:
• Windshield wiper/washer switch
• Body control module (BCM)
• Wiper PCB relay
• Wiper high PCB relay
• Windshield wiper motor
• Windshield washer fluid pump
• Windshield washer fluid level switch
• WPR fuse 25 A
• WSW fuse 10 A
This is more then likely not a fuse issue !!!!!!!
Low Speed Operation
When the wiper switch is in the low speed position, ground is applied through the switch internal resistor and the wiper switch low signal circuit to the body control module (BCM). In response to this signal, the BCM energizes the WIPER PCB relay by applying battery voltage through the wiper relay control circuit to the coil side of the relay. This allows battery positive voltage from the WPR fuse to flow through the switch input side of the WIPER PCB relay and out to the switch input side of the WIPER HIGH PCB relay. Since the wiper high relay is de-energized and its switch contacts are normally closed to the low speed control circuit of the windshield wiper motor, the motor will operate at low speed.
Wiper motor low speed operation and the wiper PCB relay can also be commanded ON/OFF by using a scan tool. Refer to Control Module References.
The PCB relays mentioned above are soldered right into the circuit board inside the fuse/relay block under the hood . There are alot of reasons for the wipers not to work ! The fuse could be blown but fuse's don't just blow for no good reason , short to ground , low resistance high current flow etc.... Intermittant !

Power and Grounds
With the ignition in the ON position, accessory voltage is supplied through the 25A WPR fuse to the WIPER PCB relay, the WIPER HIGH PCB relay and the WS WASH PCB relay that are all located in the underhood fuse block. Refer to Wiper/Washer Schematics.
G200 provides ground for the windshield wiper motor and the WIPER PCB relay. G100 provides ground for the windshield washer fluid pump and the windshield washer fluid level switch.

What would cause alternator to read regulators out when its not out

Best to get it to a workshop if smoke is coming from fusebox you definitely have some damage.

Hooked battery up backwards

You need to take the Alternator in for a Bench check. The diodes are probably bad. Wiper switch or motor can be bad. Radio can be smoked.

For wiper motor, the contact points use a system where a derailer mechanically shifts the points to break contact. The contacts are probably fused.

Windshield wipers keeps blowing the fuse

Here's the good news your hoping for, it is very likely that it is not in the wiring, odds are equally likely that you burnt up the windings in the motor. Now whenever you turn them on, the windings are contacting and instantly popping the fuse. Without getting into an at length answer as to how these motors work, the simple answer is replace the motor, and I give it high odds this resolves your symptom.

Ihave a 2003 Ford Explorer & the windshield wipers won't stop working, with the switch turned off or even removed. The only way to stop them is to remove the battery cable.

Sounds like the park switch in the wiper motor is bad. Some manufacturers allwo you to change the circuit board seperately from the motor, sometimes they have to be changed as a unit

2002 Nissan Pathfinder _ Electrical Problems

Unusual the dealer can't or won't find the problem.
A mechanic would check everything in that circuit for shorts to ground.
Was the fuse blowing before the alternator and battery were replaced ?
Based on the wiring diagrams I would vote for a defective alternator.
The 10 amp fuse number 8 powers the cluster which also goes to the alternator. If the alternator shorts out internally it would blow that number 8 fuse and take the cluster with it.
The other circuits you mentioned are controlled by the key switch but are fused after the switch. So if the switch was causing the problem it should be blowing a 40amp fuse.
I would probably take the alternator off and have someone else test it.

Windshield wipers won't cut off and I'm having trouble locating the fuse box to turn them off

The fuse panel is located behind the left hand side of the instrument panel. In your car, the Park switch appears to have failed ON it to park the wipers. the park switch is an integral part of the wiper motor assembly, so replacement would mean having to replace the wiper motor assembly as a unit ... good-day!!
