Power window motor remove replace

I njust bought a 94 Buick Century. The Driver side window motor does not work at all. The passenger side is slow and stops every couple of inches. Then I have to wait a while to continue to try to get it all the way up.(passenger) Eventually it goes all the way up. I am most concerned with getting the drivers side to work. Any ideas?

SOURCE: i have a 94 buick

You should have 12volts on the orange wire to the switch and a good ground on the black wire. If you have power and ground at the wires you can check the switch. The blue wire will get 12volts when pressing the switch in the up position. The brown wire will get 12volts in the down position. A common problem is the wires break where the door opens and closes.

SOURCE: 2003 Buick Century - window problem

I've had a similar problem with my 2003 Buick Century. In my case, the driver's side front window one day went up and would not come down. I knew that the switch was malfunctioning by sticking in the up position since the window continued up despite the fact that Iet off the switch when the window was half way up and it continued going up. I had to pull over and pull the master switch assembly from the door panel and unplug it to prevent the window motor from being damaged by the constant power feeding it after the window was up. Basically, it would have burned the motor out. I cleaned the switch and it now works fine most of the time. I still need to replace the assembly. Not sure this is the reason in your case. I would check the back window and see if it goes down with the switch on the back door panel. If it does, then you are having problem with the master switch assembly on your front door panel. Moisture from rain from the window being down during rain or dirt may have corroded the switches' contacts.

Buick century 1998 power window passenger side will not work , nothing work mechinal , all other windows work

You most likely have a bad window lift motor or MORE LIKELY a broken window regulator. The door must be disassembled to replace either or both of these.
It could also be a bad window control switch or a broken wire in the door-jamb area. Please note that EITHER of the switches for the passenger window (the driver's control switch or the one on the passenger door) can cause BOTH of the switches to not work to move the passenger window. In this case, electrical diagnosis must be performed to locate the cause of the problem.

sounds like you may have broken wire in the wiring harness from the left side of the dash to the left driver front door.

The driver's side power window is stuck half way up on 1998 buick century limited. What is the problem?

It could be the fuse, does it go down? If not chk. fuse, if fuse ok, see if you can help it down by pushing down on window wile working switch, and also same wile trying to go up, if it don't work or if its slow chanses are the motor is tired and needs replaced or its lost power like bad switch or broken wire. there is also a chanse it came off the track in witch case the door panel will have to be removed.

94 chevy s10 blazer power windows not working

I had the same problem - driver side fine, passenger side front not working/slow or the back seat. You need to replace the window motor on the passenger side. Yes, there are two motors. It's pretty simple if you are handy with some tools. The hardest part is getting the 4 mounts that hold the window motor to the door off. The are factory riveted to the door, so I had to grind the outsides off and tap them out. Just watch the spring lever that holds the window bar for going up and down. I didn't pay attention and it snapped back - nearly broke my thumb.

2001 buick century driver side heat/cool problems

Sounds like a problem with the "Drivers side temp actuator motor".
Each side has a motor that controlls the temp. door inside the dash for the driver or passenger side. These motors are approx. $75, plus 1 hr. labor to install. See more info here...
