That is a T74 Campaign. that should be covered if your car is under warranty.
Pull the visor to the right exposing the metal rod. Use vise grips to flatten the rod in several places. Force the visor back on to the rod.
It's not exactly a "fix", but if you put the visor in the "up" position, a toothpick can be placed in the hinge perpendicular to the visor's shaft (a little difficult to explain but I could SHOW you in a heartbeat). The end of the toothpick nearest you is on "your" side of the visor and the other end rests on the plastic fitting into which the hinge mounts. It's not like there's a lot of weight to the visor. No Velcro, no drilling or sewing, no clips. It holds the visor nicely and you can simply remove the toothpick if you want to make use of the visor. We found colored toothpicks that aren't far from the color of the upholstery. Our car is an '06 and there's no recall. Near as I can tell, there IS a recall on the '07 for the very same issue.
Well guess what? I have had this problem for a month and finally decided to get it fixed before my 60,000 mile warranty ran out. I called to make an appt. and they told me my 5 year warranty expired on January 29-two days ago. They told me the part cost $150 plus labor. Fortunately I am able to clip the edge of the visor into the little latch and keep it from impairing my vision. My next solution will be to use adhesive velcro strips.
If your car is still under warranty, take your car back to your dealership and TELL them to fix it! Once a recall, always a recall, car companys don't just stop honoring a recall because they fixed a few cars. If they still give you flak, tell them where to shove it and take your car to another dealership. They will honor your warranty because your warranty is through Hyundai- not the dealership- same with the recall- it was enacted by Hyundai not the dealership. Ooooh sheisty dealerships irk me off! Good luck!

broken drivers side visor 2006 sonata 43789 miles on the car...
2007 sonata same problem sun visor wont stay up or down.
I had my driver side visor replaced at just under 60k miles under the warranty and now at 100K miles its doing it again but now its in my field of vision. I have had so many stupid issues with this car. i feel that if the same problem happened after 40k miles that is proving what a crappy part that is. i can't even use it to block sun in front of me, it wont go all the way. HELP
