SOURCE: A4 cabriolet hood stuck

I'm not sure about that. I'm assuming that you've checked the fuse. There may be a circuit breaker for the top operation as well, and that may have blown (those are under the hood usually, or under the dash on the driver's side). Have you tried cycling the ignition a few times, or maybe a 30 minute disconnect on the battery? That usually puts the car's computers into relearn mode. I'm just throwing out ideas here since I've never dealt with this before, but they're worth trying.

SOURCE: how to change ignition switch

the easiest way is to call a locksmith and have them come out and pull it otherwise you risk tearing up the column.they charge about 60.00 and will even put in a new ignitin switch for you if you ask themto.

SOURCE: I have a '97 Audi

First of all check the voltage with meter at battery terminals. There should be 12 volts. Then check the voltage at battery to starter connections, there should be 12 volts. Then check voltage at ignition switch terminals there should be 12 volts. But if there is no 12 voltage at battery then this is the issue. But as i thing you have removed the ignition switch so check the ignition switch wiring voltage if there is no 12 volt this indicates that wires are not connected or there is a short in the connections.Any of the connection is loose. If the connections got connected at wrong positions then it will short the connections as you start the car.Get the voltages checked, this will give the start for troubleshooting,in which area to look and check. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

SOURCE: Audi Cabriolet 1996 the drivers window won't go up

I had this same problem and the only switch that worked was the master control between the seats. Under the dash near the steering column is the power window module. Take that out and pry off the plastic cap. Inspect for bad solder joints on the printed circuit board. I re-soldered a bad joint on mine and it fixed the problem. Audi wanted $500.00 for the part only!

Where abouts is the igbition switch located on a ford taurus 1996

Inspect/Test/Replace The ignition switch is usually mounted to the steering column and is operated by a linkage rod.
NOTE On column-mounted ignition switches, don't confuse the switch with the lock cylinder and keys. The ignition switch is not normally visible. On some vehicles, the steering column support has to be removed and the column lowered to find the ignition switch. On others, the switch is accessible under the dash.

I have an Audi 2.6 E Cabriolet. The dash shows a flashing red light for the brakes, which according to the manual means low fluid level. Level is ok and the float switch also checks out ok. Solutions...

I had the same problem but weirdly enough I topped up my Hydrolic fluid and it suddenly stop flashing Perhaps it is a short circuit on my Audi 2.6 E Cabriolet or it actually picks up both brake fluid and Hydrolic fluid with the same light

Lower dash removal of 93 vw cabriolet to change ignition switch

You'll need to remove the steering wheel, 15/16th inch socket, the column top and bottom cover, remove the 3 screws holding on the turn signal and wiper stocks. Unplug and remove the stocks. Remove the black plastic sleeve on the hub. Remove the 1 allen bolt holding the lock cylinder/switch assembly. Remove assembly, there is a phillips screw holding the ignition switch in the assembly, remove that screw and pull out the ignition switch.

Hi, This is usually just a case of a replacement switch that is approx £12-£15 from an Audi dealer. I had the same issue and this fixed it.
