There should be a manual bypass to remove the clutch to the compressor otherwise measure the belt and go about 10 inches or shorter (just a hint to get the belt off use the tire iron wrench and push the tension pulley toward the cab of the car the thread is reversed)

I have a 1998 Buick Park Avenue Ultra, Supercharged.

Question edited for typos and add some spaces..
Question moved to model category.

You just fit a Bypass Pulley. This takes the place of the AC compressor, the belt and routing stay the same.

2006 Pontiac Torrent. What size belt do I need if I bypass a/c compressor and idler pulley on it?

That's not the way that you do it. You remove the AC compressor and install a Bypass Pulley in its place. The belt and routing remain the same.

Can I bypass my ac compressor on a 1998 Buick park avenue

The easiest way to bypass the A/C is to simply pull the fuse or the wires that feed the clutch on the pulley end of the A/C compressor. The belt will still turn the outer pulley - but without the electric clutch engaged - the power loss to freewheel the A/C pulley is minimal. If you insist on NOT turning the A/C pulley, remove the belt if it only turns the A/C compressor. If it goes to other devices, you'll need to determine the size belt that will fit w/o the A/C compressor.

Seized air conditioner compressor

If the compressor is seized, you will know when you turn on the AC, as the belt will shriek like a banshee usually. And yes you can usually just bypass it with a belt for the same model as yours without AC. If there werent any built without AC, you can try another model with the same engine. If all else fails, you can use a small mason's rope to pass through the pulleys without the AC and mesure the length of the rope needed to do so, then count the number of ribs on the original belt. Any good counter parts guy will be able to find you a belt that will fit the measurements as close as possible.

How to remove & bypass AC compressor on 94 ford F250 W/460

You must buy an AC delete pulley assembly, it goes where the AC pump is now and then you use the same belt. You can order it from the dealer or buy them on line from other suppliers.

Compressor is shot can I by pass it with shorter belt

An A/C bypass pulley is an alternative to expensive air conditioning repairs. Most late model vehicles use a single belt to drive the water pump, alternator, power steering pump, and A/C compressor. When an A/C compressor fails and locks up, it will break the belt and leave you stranded. Until recently, the only solution was to spend hundreds of dollars to replace the compressor and repair the A/C system. Dorman make these. You can also buy a used compressor at apull-a-parts place for less than that.

Bypass ac compressor 2006 dodge ram 3500 5.9 L diesel I need to bypass stuck ac compressor

Hi:
The easiest method to do this is to go to an auto parts store and buy a belt designed for a truck with no air conditioning. The belt will be the right size, and you just install it as normal, and bypass the compressor

Can i bypass the air conditioning compresser with a smaller serpentine belt?

No. There is a tensioner pulley which controls the tightness of a serpentine belt. In addition, the belt travels a specific path. Bypassing the air conditioning compressor not only requires a different size belt, it would require rerouting the belt and omitting one component would mess up the travel of the belt and may actually result in reversing the rotation of some of the components that the belt turns. In addition, the belt tensioner is designed specifically for that length and size of belt. You would most likely affect the belt tension, which would result in slippage or overtightness. Overtightness on the bearings of the devices the belt controls will cause that unit to sieze.

How do I bypass 1992-94 buick park avenue security system?

On mine I bypassed it with this solution after it was locked down for weeks: http://newrockies.ca/vatsbypass . This one will bypass the entire system and not only the key and lock cylinder. I wanted to kick the whole system out of my car and never hear about it anymore.

Alternator Belt

TAKE A ROPE AND RUN IT AS IF IT WERE A BELT ALONG THE ALTERNATOR AND CRANKSHAFT. MEASURE THE LENGTH OF ROPE THEN GO TO PARTS STORE TO BUY A SMALLER BELT. THE IDEA IS TO BYPASS THE AC BEING A 94 IM SURE IT HASN'T WORKED IN QUITE SOME TIME, I'VE BEEN A MECHANIC FOR 8 YEARS AND WE BYPASS THESE ALL THE TIME, THE TENSIONER ON THAT CAR I BELIEVE IS ON THE ALTERNATOR, HONDA MADE THE AC OPTIONAL.. BELTS ARE USUALLY NAMED AFTER THERE SIZE (IE 4060934 IS 93.4 INCHES LONG) IF NEED BE REMOVE THE AC COMPRESSOR.
