Transmission noise, ticking

Check trans light came on and vehicle had a loss of power, when shut off & restarted light & power loss was gone. This happened 3 or 4 times, then vehicle wouldn't move. Now it will move but has a ticking noise in the trans when in neutral and when in gear. Had codes PO715, PO701, PO961, PO871, and PO868 when I first scanned it, cleared them out at the PO701 returns immediately.

What causes 2000 Lincoln contineal check transmission light to come on?

First of all check your Trans fluid level, some times the computer will say its at an ok level when its not. Then take it to 3 trans shops for an estimate, these shops are notorious for ripping you off. Good luck

Engine dies at stop lights when air conditioning is in use

Lets use common sense on the Trans Flushing

Old Fluid out --- New Fluid in---WOULD THAT DO ANYTHING
TO CORRECT ANY PROBLEM------NO

Trans & Power Steering Fluids-- are done every 3 years
in my world
They are called Preventative Maintenance, just like spark plugs,
gas & air filters,nothing else,fixes nothing

Trans fluid breaks down over time from heat & then your
clutches burn up & your trans fails,no other reason to change
the fluid

If the Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid is bad & doesn't
release when you apply the brake, then it is like slowing down
with a standard shift car & not putting in the clutch when you
come to a stop

You need to ask more questions & understand what your
told or stay in the conversation & take it into the service bay
& not deal with a service writer who doesn't work on the
product.

When the car is off i hear a ticking nosie by the the fuel tank. my guess is the fuel pump. i have a riugh ideal and los of power

well the fuel pump does not run when the key switch is OFF, however the ticking noise you are hearing would most likely be the HOT muffler after driving for awhile the exhaust heats up and expands then when the engine is shut off it starts cooling and shrinking and will tick and ping like crazy. as far as the rough idol and power loss it could be a number of things! is there any check engine lights on??

1995 manual trans. speedometer not working check engine light on loss of power iddeling at lower rpm. at standstill

Sounds like misfiring cylinders. Take the vehicle to a shop or auto parts store. They will connect an OBD II Code Reader to your vehicle and tell you what code comes up in your car's computer for the reason your check engine light has gone on. It could be something as simple as bad sparkplugs and the need for a tuneup.

2002 mercury grand marquis. Periodic problem with loss of power under normal acceleration. First take off fine, proceed a short distance to stop sign and idle is fine. Normal acceleration and out of...

shift solenoid is internal to the trans and could be your concern depending one which solenoid is the concern

more often than not though you would hear the engine rpm's higher and the vehicle not moving

I's start with a trans flush and see if the concern repeats

if so then you need more diagnoses like what is fuel pressure at the time of the concern, MAF in grams/second and TP data

I have a 1994 XLT Ford Explorer, was running fine with no transmission problems. Parked vehicle during snow storm about two days later I got into the vehicle to move it again, put the vehicle into...

That don't sound good. If you shut the engine off and restart it, is the grinding noise still there? If you engaged it with wheels spinning there's a good possibility the you broke something inside trans or transfer. If you did that with engine idling, I find it hard to believe anything would break. As far as it not moving it could be something as simple as the brake pads are frozen to the rotors (cold weather). I guess it's possible you have the transfer case jammed somehow, but that doesn't explain the grinding noise in the trans. The park pawl is in the transmission, so when the trans is in park the only thing turning is the input shaft and maybe a clutch drum or two. The output shaft should be held still by the park pawl. If you have a push button on the dash to engage the 4X4, that means it's done with an electric motor, it's possible that motor failed. You could try pushing the vehicle by hand a little maybe you jar it loose.
I guess I'm not much help, sorry.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Power Loss

a bad cam sensor will cause vehicle to shut off while driving, and cause a hard time starting. but this usually sets a trouble code p0340. scan vehicle to see if any codes come up. after it is fixed, erase codes with a obd2 scanner. if you do not have one, you can go to any auto parts store and they will erase codes for free.

When the engine gets warm the transmission doesn't shift properly

have u had the trans serviced every 60,000 miles? this would be a fluid and filter change. Dirty trans fluid can cause these kinds of problems, it can also be caused by a sticky shift solenoid (transmission is electronically controlled), do u have a check engine light or ay trouble code's? go to Kragen or Autozone and ask then to run a trouble code test, it's free, record any codes and post them back here.
