Spray some starter fluid into the throttle body. If it starts, you have a fuel system problem. Check fuses and relays and the fuel pump. If it still will not start you will need a scanner to read codes and look at the sensor readings.
Won't start how ? A crank - no start condition or a no crank - no start ? When you the the key an nothing happens , the starter doesn't engage an spin the engine - no crank - no start . When you turn the key an the starter engages an spins the engine but does not start an run - crank - no start . Now what is your doing ?
starter isnt engaging, if you know where the starter is, tap on it with a hammer
1 person crank it over while the other person taps on it - its on the back of the engine
If this is a gas engine, check the ignition coil or plug wires. A simple test...
Start the truck at night, then look under the hood while it's running. Don't use a flashlight or your headlights; it should be dark !
If you see sparks anywhere around the engine, you've found the problem. Now you can turn on a light to see where they're coming from - probably from a cracked ignition coil.
