SOURCE: Can head gasket leak without the vehicle overheating?

It could be a cracked head or a cracked block too. You need to have a compression check done and analyze your fluids carefully.

SOURCE: my car blows smoke out the tail pipes when i start

if it is just when starting and blue smoke it will be valve stem oil seals or possible valve guide wear leave ticking over five mins then rev up if it smokes and clears that will confirm it assume you have checked there is not too much oil in engine

SOURCE: Chevy Prizm or Toyota Corolla 2000 valve cover

The valve cover gasket isn't hard to change. Oil on the plugs indicates a more serious problem. Smoke from the exhaust would be from rings, rich mixture, worn valve guides. It may be that the engine is overfull (that would show on the stick). Oil loss from a leaking gasket would smoke under the hood and leave oil on the engine and the ground.

1998 Kawasaki 300 smokes a lot ;Remove the head and cleaned and replaced valve seals reinstalled and still smokes a lot

Next check I'd do is Fuel correct then Spark Plug, if still then Check for a broken or miss aligned ring.
Note:
If the exhaust smoke is blue or gray: Thick blue or gray smoke is an indication of the vehicle burning oil, which means that oil is somehow leaking into your engine'scombustion chamber.
If you have wrong fuel say have 2cycle mix and put in a 4cycle you'll get fouling too.
Hope I helped

Why does vvti engine SMOKING HEAVILY 135000kms .1.6 verso. is this common?

if its black smoke then its a fuel problem too much fuel the car can`t burn it . could be fuel injector over fueling. if its white smoke then its burning coolant, there is a head gasket problem that is damaged in the cyl #3 area. it could also be a bad valve guide/valve seal, oil rings, compression rings. you don`t say what colour the smoke is.

Black plugs and black smoke coming from my mg tf 2002 convertible

I read your post about your car; as one who has put alot of $$ into your engine rather than having another car payment I asked my significant other who is a real "GEAR-HEAD"; He said if you had the head redone: the plugs are completely black (covered in carbon); the exhaust is as black as the plugs are; most likely the exhaust valves are sticking and the catalytic converter is clogged! He said one sure way to find out is to start it; let it as it is warming up; look under the car at the catalytic converter & see if it gets "RED"; if it is....TADA!! THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM!! GO FROM THERE! ONE REQUEST: Take it to a real mechanic or someone who knows what they're doing; not just taking your wallet to the cleaners! Hope this helps & gets your situation resolved. My car is honda 2000 civic si dohc vtec. Has about 45k on it. The motor was replaced with my old one. Anyway when we replaced the motor. It was blowing white smoke at reving rpm. Its not black or blue but...

either blown head gasket or cracked head, coolant only escapes into motor in two ways, before you replace head gasket again, pull head, have it magnafluxed ( To Show Cracks) if there arenonehave the head resurfaced

Gas in spark plugs

generally speaking it will be oil fowling plugs rather than fuel, but to do it that quickly you should be seeing lots of blue smoke and a sinking oil level. I have seen fuel fowl plugs but generally **** fuel. you should probably check the plugs are the correct ones for the car, all plugs have differing uses and just cause they fit dont make em right. you could also look at the condition of the rest of your ignition system ie condition of leads, coil/coil packs. Another thing you could check it the condition of the throttle body, looking for fuel colouring additive build up, or even wether it is set correctly (obviously a job for diagnostic tool).
