Hi, I've got a 1991 dodge daytona es 2.5 5 speed that wont start. I have fire to the plugs and have fire comin out of coil also have good fan of fuel comin from the injector and it still wont start. I am getting some codes, a 12, a 42 and a 51. The 42 code says there an open or shorted condition detected in the asd relay circuit but wouldnt that shut down the spark and fuel, wouldnt it? This is really puzzling because the car started and ran good a couple days ago. Appreciate any help you can give. Thanks

have no pic but it is located in the trans axle on top about 4-6" in from the passenger side half shaft were it enters the trans axle.its were the speedometer cable connects to it.there should be an electrical connection at the site.i believe this system was used before they also added one behind the instrument cluster.
That relay you are talking about is your starter solenoid. If your car is a manual, put it in neutral with teh ebrake on. Turn the key to the on position. Take a screwdriver and jump the 2 bigger posts. If your starter engages, then your solenoid is shot. They are pretty cheap and easy to fix. Keep the Dodge's alive!! PLease rate!
the heater core is plugged... try flushing it in reverse... water into the side that is cold.... and see if that unplugs it... if not you will likely have to change the heater core
I had the same problem with my 90 daytona. The tach and the speedometer would work intermitantly. I took the whole gauge cluster out, and heated all the soldering with a solder gun to reflow the connections. It seems that this is a common problem with the connections cracking. You may not be able to see the cracks in the solder.
