My dodge daytona will ony

only reverse can be two things, either the shifter cable is not properly adjusted or is attached in such a way that there is not sufficent travel on the trans pawl. The other, more expensive cause is the trans is shot. Those trans are all over the place though, in junk yards or on ebay and are not real difficult to replace-pretty much any trans from a late 80's to mid 90's chrysler/dodge/plymouth will work.

I have a '92 dodge

Try jump starting it. If it starts you have a bad battery. Lights and accessories only draw a small % pf power vs what the starter needs.

Over heating with water in it

if its just water it will always overheat, the system runs over the boiling point of water, you need a misture of anti freeze and water to raise the boiling point, then do a pressure test to test the integrity of the system

92 dodge 3.0L overheating with or without

It's not the head gasket....

Could be the bottom radiator hose to the water pump. It may be collapsing under the suction of the pump. Squeeze the lower big hose to see if it is squishy. There is a spring-like coil (like a stent) that supports the hose from being squashed like a toothpaste tube.

When your car heats up and thermostat opens (if installed), look at the bottom hose from the radiator and you will see it get mashed.

If you have a thermostat, the hose will squish, then open , then squish, etc.

I hope this solves the overheating issue.

Where is the crank sensor located in an 89 Dodge Daytona

The info I looked at was for 2.5L engine, non-turbo. If you have distributor, you don't have one. You may have a sensor inside distributor. Because the distributor usually works off the cam shaft, they don't call it a crank sensor. Now, if you have a coil pack, you do have a crank sensor, some I've seen are on the tranny bell-housing. Or at the cranks shaft pulley in the front. I did look at online partsbook for the engine I listed, no crank sensor listed.

1986 dodge daytona smokes a lot

Hi Michael, I'm glad to help! When a vehicle starts to smoke, and I'm assuming you talking from the tailpipe. Its alway because there are worn parts, these parts could be anything from: Valve seals, Rings, PCV could be stop up, also on older model like yours, provided it has an auto-trans could be the modulator. This is a round cylinder looking object with a vacuum hose running to it which is attached to the side of the transmission. When it goes bad it will allow trans fluid to slip through it and it runs into the Intake Manifold and smokes out the tailpipe. As you see there are a lot of things that can cause an engine to smoke. You can check the rings by doing a "Cylinder Leak Down Test". The modulator, check it by simply unhooking the vacuum hose and if fluid runs out of the hose then replace the vacuum modulator NOTE: Provided it has a modulator. If both of these are OK, I suggest replacing the valve seals. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Michael.
