Egnition lcoked i cannot turn the key, egnition is locked

If steering lock doesnt function there is a high probability a no start is related.

some of them you turn egnition on but not start open driver door. lock door lock by hand.aim remote at sensor and hold down lock button on remote till you hear it lock. within 15sec after you hear it lock turn key off and then back on but not start then turn key off and it should be good to go.,.... i hope. i got one from keyless ride.com took about 15sec. to program and only 50$ for what dealer wanted 250$ good luck hope this helps

check battery in key/check under back seat lock /unlock motor there/key not programmed to lock doors

try yanking on the steering wheel. the wheel locking mechanism is tied in to the key ignition (locks the wheel when ignition is off)... the wheel should enter fully into the locked position with a click and you should be able to turn the key

i have done this before an it worked so u could try it take a socket close to the size of the egnition an a hammer remove key fist an drive it home an then try key again if it doesnt work replace egnition if it does work dont remove key till u ready to replace egnition

remove the whole lock and tap it out if you are lucky ,normally i just cut them off and renew the whole lot if the key is broke in the lock

Bad egnition switch

this is a safety mecanisem for cars with electric egnetion because jump starting it will fry the egnition

i had that same problem with my 99 alero i ended up having to change out my entire egnition switch and tumbler

i had the same thing happen to me. you have a smart key and there is a chip inside the key that must be read by the security skin in your ignition your car will start three times and if the chip is not presented to the security skin transducer then it will lock your ignition out so the car will not start. Two options one if you have a spare key use that and try turning the ignition on and leave the car set for 3-4 hours this will generally clear the lock out. If that does not work then you will need to get a new key from the dealer and have them flash your car's PCM or get the new blank key and call an area lock smith and have them reprogram your key and reset your antitheft module on your car.
