Most dealers have the remote immobiliser on record. You will need to provide vin number, model, year proof of ownership, registration and other paper work and in some instances a lot of money as replacement of the key costs

1997 FORD ESCORT WONT START HAVE DASHBOARD LIGHTS AND HEADLIGHTS NO SOUND EXCEPT ALARM FROM DOOR BEING OPENED

if my memory serves me correctly is the key the one with transponder in it and spare key is a red one. if so try the red key. another thought is when you unlock the door there is a alarm imobiliser shroud around the doorlock. remove door panel and check its operating ok.( dont hold me to this information but i have done these in the past and im sure thats what it is )

Key goes in the driver's lock and only opens the driver's door. Car alarm goes off when door is opened and will not start. Have tried multiple times. Can you help?

Does it have remote central locking. If it does then it needs to be opened with the remote control. By opening the door with the key is the same as picking the lock to the alarm system so it put's on the alarm and imobilise's the car and actavates the alarm. Hope this help's Cheer's

you should already have a wire shunt in the main harness for the tach. all you need is the sending unit and the gauge. the sending unit goes in a port on top of the transmission next to the engin bloc. the dealer ship will have the schematic for your specific vehicle and the right sending unit............please rate this
