Mazda cx 7 battery problems

Two days ago I was going to start my mazda cx7 and come to find out it would not start so I had it jumped and it ran. So I took it up to firestone and asked them to take a look at my battery, Firestone told me that it was my battery and I had it replaced that day. I then drove over to my boyfriends house with no problem until the next morning I went to start up my car and it would not start up again.. DEAD! So I am just wondering what could cause a car to die when it hadn't even been started over night! Please helpful comments only!

I would say check the battery if it is strong enough. Mazda cx7 needs a stronger cold crank battery at 640 amps. the common mistake is buying the cheap battery but those onse are 550 amps and will not crank your Mazda when it is cold, however the cold crank 640 amps are powerful enough to get it going. hope this helps.

Check or have the battery's state of charge tested with a voltmeter. If the battery is low on charge, have it charged up. If all connections on battery and starter are clean and tight,, car should start. If you get it started and the alternator/battery light stays on with car running, there is a charging system malfunction. Have the alternator tested, in that case.

SOURCE: 1991 Mazda 626 DX dies suddenly after running for 10 minutes.

Hello, It sounds like an engine ignition control module gone out or a coil. They get hot and quit working after a short period of time, cool off then work again till they get hot.
Is the ignition system pointless electronic or does it have points? Are you getting any fire at all now to the cylinders? Does the tach in the vehicle show any RPM's during cranking? Do you have voltage at the positive side of the ignition coil? Does the coil meet the ohm ratings for that years vehicle ignition? Does the vehicle have oil in it so the oil pressure sensor allows the engine to run, this may not be an option on your particular vehicle? You can check most of this out with a volt/ohm meter. Check your voltages before starting the vehicle, during running and after it quits to see where the loss is. Just don't get near the center tap of the coil or you will get a rude awakening and/or serious injury. Good luck, RAC

Have you checked that you have power to the coil on cranking? You may also want to check wether you have a good strong spark at the spark plug.It could be an ignition module breaking down.If you have no power to the coil you may need to change the ignition relay. Its close to the battery.

Probably the battery. Take it the chain auto parts place and they will test it for you.

SOURCE: Having problem with Mazda 6

#1 The negative battery cable is loose, corroded, damaged, or otherwise not making a good ground connection where it connects to the engine block.

#2 Another possibility, just as likely, is the positive cable not making a good connection to the starter solenoid.

#3 You might as well clean the battery clamps and battery posts (probably cleaned when new battery was installed)

Highly likely that all mechanical parts are ok. Do not change-out the starter.

I just replaced the battery in my 2007 Mazda CX7. The only thing working is the wipers. Nothing else is getting power and there's no lights on the dash. Any suggestions as to what may be wrong?

My first thought is did the wiper work before you changed the battery.
The fact your windshield wipers work and nothing else makes it a headscratcher.
I think you will have to do the basics
Make sure your battery is good, Positive cables are good and negative to ground cables are good. If you have no power to fuse box or any fuses you could have bad battery cables or grounds.
I put a few links and the last one is a video.
Below I have owners manual with fuse box diagram, fuse box diagram for 09-12, electrical manual and video with some basic electrical checks. I think you need to start checking at the battery and work out from there to find where the power is lost.

2008 madz cx7.. will not start and it does not show a problem when they ran diagnostics on it

Sometimes a starter will develope a flat spot. You can tap the starter with a hammer to coax it into starting. Before tapping it verify the cables to the starter are in tact and if you have a volt meter you can verify if the ignition is providing power to it.
