SOURCE: Dash Lights 1995 Isuzu Rodeo

with lights off and battery disconnected remove the twist knob on the dash that brighten and dims your dash lights and jump the two prongs with a jumper wire. connect battery and turn lights on all your dash lights should work now. if thay don't take the dash screws out and replace the bulbs, it's really easy if you have mechanical skills if not consult a friend that does. now you know the dash light dimmer switch is bad and they are hard to find i found mine in a wreck but until i did i just left the jumper wire in place (about a year and 1/2)

SOURCE: water pump replacement 96 isuzu rodeo

Remove belt, fan, fan shroud and fan bracket. Remove timing covers, timing belt and water pump. Replace timing belt and the hydraulic tensioner with new ones. I suggest you get a mechanic to do this as you can easly get it out of time. Not an easy job.

SOURCE: my 95 isuzu redeo has problems when I turn on the

bnagaki: Your dash, side marker and tail lights are all on the same circuit. When you say, that the tail lights work when you turn the light switch of, essentially what you have is the operation of your brake lights which are on a different circuit and the turn signals which are also on a different circuit. If you are loosing the lights that you are describing when you turn the light switch on, do they come on briefly? OR, they don't come on at all? If they don't come on at all, check the fuse for that circuit, it is a 10 amp fuse.
You may also have a problem with the head lamp switch it self.
That vehicle also had a tail light relay. It is located on the drivers side kick panel, second relay from the top. The dash lights have a dimmer switch that may be turned all the way down.
Good hunting.

SOURCE: 1995-96 Isuzu Rodeo transmission swapable?

No they are not compatible. They changed the crank between 95 and 96. I have a 96 that needed an engine swap and the dealer that I bought it from was paying for the engine, he bought a 95 engine and after a month of trying the mechanic said no way no how, the crank between the two is different.

Why would the brake lights stop working when the headlights are on in a 1998 izusu rodeo?

Well, the brake lights, and tail lights are different. Normally, when you turn your headlights on, your tail lights come on as well, because they are controlled by the same switch. If both your tail lights are not on, changing the lamps is the first thing to check. If both have stopped working at the same time though, it is likely going to be a wiring issue. You Brake lights, however, are controlled by a switch usually installed and activated by the brake pedal. If it has come loose or been damaged the your brake light will not light up when you brake. This is particularly dangerous. You should make these determinations and then repair before doing any further driving. Good luck!

Inside dash lights and tail lights won't turn on in my '95 Isuzu Rodeo, what can I do?

My 97 Rodeo had the same problem. No Tail lights, no. Dash lights. There is also an annoying buzzer that goes with the set telling you the lights are on, there is no key in the ignition and your door is open. (you don't notice it when it's gone but you sure notice it when it's back)
The Fuse (taillight Illum) was good, The Light relay under the hood was good and all bulbs were good.
What fixed this problem was replacing the tail light relay which is located in a panel just to the left of the brake pedal also called the kick panel.Inside there are 3 relays. I replaced the one in the middle and got everything to work.
If you need to identify the relay you can put your hand over it and then turn the lights on and off. The correct relay should click. Mine was the middle one.
Hope this helps someone because it stumped me for months.

No turn signals, no tail lights and fuses are good

Replace the non-working tail light bulb. Try replacing the bulbs for the turn signals. If that doesn't work, replace the relay.

TO TROUBLE SHOOT ELECTRICAL YOU MIGHT NEED TO TRY A GOOD BULB OF CORRECT TYPE INTO SOCKET IN BRAKE FIXTURE THEN ALSO MAKE CERTAIN THE REGULAR TAIL LIGHT ELEMENT IS GOOD REPLACE FUSE WITHOUT PRESSING BRAKE LIGHTS ON IF FUSE IS OK THEN TURN ON THE RUNNING LIGHTS SEE IF THE ONE IN QUESTION IS COMING ON IF IT IS AND THE FUSE IS OK THEN PRESS BRAKE PEDAL AND SEE IF THE BULB LIGHTS WITH THE BRAKE ON ALSO THE FOUR WAY FLAHER IF FUSE IF STILL GOOD IT MIGHT ALLOW DASH LIGHTS TO COME ON MANY VEHICLES HAVE A SAFETY WAY OF LETTING YOU KNOW YOU HAVE NO TAIL LIGHTS BY ALSO TURNING OFF THE DASH LIGHTS.
