Honda crx dx auxiliary fan not turning on

Age: 23 Posts: 2 iTrader: (0) Replacing thermostat for fan bypass crx dx hi
my crx dx 85 has a home made bypass fan switch,
i am going to put it back original factory settings, so ive
considered putting a new thermostat in the radiator,
and then replug the electrical wires there.
there seems to be some electrical wires behind the carburetor,
do you think that is related to the fan switch bypass?
also what other parts should be replaced, or be checked so that the fan
will automatically spin.
thanks for the needed help

SOURCE: Radiator fan turns on randomly kills battery NEED HELP!

Check the relay inside the engine compartment. It may be sticking allowing the 12v's to stay on the cooling fan. Sometime this box that contain the relays are on the passanger side.

SOURCE: Radiator fan not working

Hi. Check the bottom of the radiator or on the side, as you also have a temperature-sending switch. The switch must reach a certain temperature before sending a signal on to the fan relay.

The switch just screws into the radiator.

If you would like to contact me again about this or other problems, feel free to do so.

SOURCE: car overheat

The rad fan is required to keep your engine at a normal operating temp. When you are going at hiway speeds the fan is not needed. When you stop then the fan has to operate to keep the engine cool.If the fan is not operating, it could be the fuse or fan relay or temp sensor or computer This problem should be checked by someone who is a professional..

My 2003 Chevrolet ASTRO van the front heat works and blows fine but the rear heater blows cold only

There could be a few possible causes for the rear heater not blowing hot air in your 2003 Chevrolet ASTRO van. Here are a few things you could check:
  1. Make sure that the rear heater control valve is fully open. This valve is located near the heater core and controls the flow of coolant to the rear heater.
  2. Check the coolant level in the radiator. If the coolant level is low, the heater may not be able to produce hot air.
  3. Check for any leaks in the coolant system. If the system is leaking, it may not have enough coolant to produce hot air.
  4. Check the thermostat. If the thermostat is stuck closed, it may not be allowing enough coolant to flow through the system to produce hot air.
If these steps do not help, it is possible that there is a problem with the heater core itself, or with other components of the heating system. It may be necessary to have a mechanic diagnose and repair the issue.

1994mitsubishispacewagon still overheats after replacing auxilliary fan sensor, cleaned the hoses, pls help

Thermostat stuck take it out. leave it out .. try it ...then
put in a new one...or water pump weak. Also try wiring the auxiliary fan and any other fans so that anytime the vehicles motor is ON the fans are ON don't depend on a sensor on a Mitsubishi of that age...fans that don't come on soon enough, or stay on long enough, or turn on at all without letting you know until the motor overheats..... , are the leading cause of death for vehicles~!! lol

I have a 91 honda crx dx model..i was sriving down the freeway and the engine stopped..i had full power lights and all and the car wouldnt start again for about 10 minutes then it finally started

Main relay has dry joints. Remove it, from under the coin tray in between door and steering wheel under dash. Resolder the join and refit. You don't need a new one, just the joints are dry.

Very common and gives you the willies when it kills you car on the freeway.

Vote for me if this helps you.

How do you replace the thermostat in a 1991 Honda CRX with a VTEC engine

c8cfdc0.jpgthis is an exploded view of the thermostat. it is located below the throttle body. youll need to remove the air intake tube and the lower radiator hose. there will be alot of coolant come out when the radiator hose is removed and slightly more when the thermostat is removed. rememeber to refill the engine with coolant and let the engine heat up enough for the cooling fans to cycle twice .

Fan not working on 07 cooper s no power to connector fuse, relays all ok.

Hi,
Please try to get the car in the fan test mode and you need to

1) Turning the key to position 2 (running position)
2) Holding both Auto buttons for >10 seconds
3) Holding the REST button for 5 seconds.

When you scroll to 20 the value is never 10 and is usually either 3.2 or 21.3.

Hold the REST button for 5 sec. Use AUTO to scroll.

10. Blower Control Voltage: 6.0V
11. Emission Sensor: 2.4V
12. Sun Sensor: 4.1V
20. Control Current for Auxiliary Fan: 3.2mA
21. Engine Speed: 44 or 4,400rpm
22. Vehicle Speed: 0 (Car must be moving to show a reading)
23. Terminal 58d: 32 or 32%
24. Battery Voltage: 13.3V

This isn't like the old cars, where the auxiliary fan used a simple switch. The ECT signal comes from the instrument panel.
Perhaps your pushbutton unit is bad.
