Replacing thermostat for fan bypass crx dx
hi
my crx dx 85 has a home made bypass fan switch,
i am going to put it back original factory settings, so ive
considered putting a new thermostat in the radiator,
and then replug the electrical wires there.
there seems to be some electrical wires behind the carburetor,
do you think that is related to the fan switch bypass?
also what other parts should be replaced, or be checked so that the fan
will automatically spin.
thanks for the needed help

Check the relay inside the engine compartment. It may be sticking allowing the 12v's to stay on the cooling fan. Sometime this box that contain the relays are on the passanger side.

Hi. Check the bottom of the radiator or on the side, as you also have a temperature-sending switch. The switch must reach a certain temperature before sending a signal on to the fan relay.
The switch just screws into the radiator.
If you would like to contact me again about this or other problems, feel free to do so.

The rad fan is required to keep your engine at a normal operating temp. When you are going at hiway speeds the fan is not needed. When you stop then the fan has to operate to keep the engine cool.If the fan is not operating, it could be the fuse or fan relay or temp sensor or computer This problem should be checked by someone who is a professional..

Check out this site, I have purchased from them, OEM parts, and they're cheaper than local dealers, great exploded views of the carb and parts.
