SOURCE: XK8 ABS FAULT LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITANTLY PLUS

Number of possibilities. Most likely culprit is wheel bearings. Have these checked. Big heavy car and wheel bearings do take a hammering on XK and XJ's. Once they go, the wheel speed sensors are out of line with the tracking ring and a fault code is thrown. As the TCS uses the same sensor, this also throws a fault. Next in line is the ABS unit (it's hardly ever the main block, but ECU itself, companies on the net offer rebuilt units. Finally it can be the ABS pump unit - but the fault codes will show if this is the case - or you can pull the pump unit plug out of the ABS unit and see if it has continuity with a multimeter - should be a low number of ohms. 8 times out of 10, it is wheel bearing.

SOURCE: my abs, traction control and parking brake light

Because you apparently have no knowledge of OBD govt emission
systems, that have been on our vehicles for the last 30 years

Any light on the dash, is a possible system malfuntion
You surely have heard of codes you get from the diagnostic
connector under the dash
You use the codes to follow a trouble chart, to a solution and repair
That is the short version

You need a local repair shop, the days of working on your own
car in the driveway, left about 1981 with the OBD1 and now OBD2
Systems (1996 thru 2011)

SOURCE: ESP/BAS warning light on. went

Hi, these systems are all linked together. Most commonly, one of the wheel speed sensors is not reading or is reading incorrectly. This can also occur on slippery surfaces where one or more wheel slides enough to cause the sensor to drop the signal, but not enough to meet criteria for an abs or esp episode. If the light comes back every time you turn on the ignition, there is a deeper problem.
The system has detected a fault in the electronic stability program - brake assist system. You have an electrical connection at the rear wheels secured to the inside of the brake area and are viewable from under the vehicle. It is a small wire harness running to each wheel. Grab the connector and wiggle it around, and make sure they are tight. Due to the connector being mounted low to the ground, sometimes they become dirty or corroded, not making contact. Do this on both sides and see if the lights turn off.

If the light does not turn off, you have to replace dynamics sensor, which is mounted UNDERNEATH the center console in the car. There is a "lost communication to dynamics sensor" and "low voltage to dynamics sensor supply"..

  • How you see what is wrong is by hooking up a scan tool an checking for stored DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . If the lights are on codes are stored pointing in the right diagnostic procedure .

What causes the ESP light to turn on , in a 2010 journey?

The ESP (Electronic Stability Program) light turns on in a 2010 Journey when the system detects a fault or error with the vehicle's stability control system. This can be caused by a variety of issues, such as a faulty wheel speed sensor, a malfunctioning steering angle sensor, a problem with the ABS system, or issues with the traction control system. In some cases, a low battery voltage or a loose connection can also trigger the ESP light to turn on. It is recommended to have the vehicle diagnosed by a professional mechanic to identify the specific cause of the issue and perform the necessary repairs.

ABS/ Traction control light/BAS & brake light on in 2008 dodge grand caravan

It is safe to drive. You need a scan tool to get a code out of it. Could be as simple as a wheel speed sensor going bad. All of these lights will work together normally. The traction control uses the ABS to gain traction, and the Brake Assist System is part of the stability control. Also uses the ABS.

Sprinter 56 plate 311 cdi esp/abs/traction control lights will not go off?

What does 56 plate mean?

Whenever this warning or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module has detected a fault, it then disables the system as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

2008 wrangler. abs, esp and traction control light staying on. checked brake fluid and fuses

Check first the third eye brake light. does it work? okay the problem reside in a ABS sensor make sure it is hook up or if you recently did a brake job it didnt get contaminated. When the ABS signal is interfered with ESP,Traction is disabled. One or some of the wheel speed sensor is disconnected or is being interfered with. This is common for a recent brake job if any occured
