My manual says, 1 close doors, 2 place key in ignition & turn key between off and on position for a total of 4 times ending in the off position (do not start engine), 3 press driver side door lock button to lock doors, 4 you will hear chime when programming is completed

It is not recommended but you can pull the fuse, keep in mind you may lose other functions as well

On a 1996, you will have to take it to a dealership. They will have to plug it into their DRB (handheld computer thingy) to turn it off.

Why do i hear a dinging sound when apply brakes on 1996 dodge grand caravan ??

Noise is caused by brakes wearing. Either brakes shoes are worn, disc is out of round. Sound you hear is metal rubbing on metal, never a good sound. Contact auto repair or brake shop for repairs immediately

Auto locks don't work.

Instead of pulling a fuse which will definately trip off another time, why not take it for reprogramming?

I recommend you get an expert in security locks to reprogramme the locks for your car.

Unlock all doors when driver door opens

It won't let you. I have a 2005, and a 1997 and my parents have a 2000 and you can't. You can however turn off the auto-lock when your car is in motion. You turn the car to the "ON" postion with out starting it, and then to the "OFF" position 4 times. Then press the lock button. It will chime. Then that should be deactivated.
