97 ram 3500 starts off in second gear and had no overdrive an

Was drivin fine then sat for a week and took for a ride and it's starting off in second gear and has no overdrive. And noticed the tach stopped workin was low on fluid

Overdrive

Probably a shift solinoid in the gear box. My commodore has 2 (1st & 2nd) & (3rd & 4th) my 3 / 4 solinoid went so went 1st 2nd 3rd but not to 4th until I replaced it.

When i start the truck its fine when i put it in forward gears it doesnt want to move for a couple seconds the it catchs and starts to move same in reverse just slugish could it be the torque conveter ot...

Try putting it in neutral before putting it in drive. the pump doesn't engage in park and sometimes the fluid leaks back out of the torque converter. I have the same problem in my 2004 Ram 3500 and 70 Challenger.

1993 cutless cierra, when driving, all is fine, then when you come to a stop sign, or a light, the engine cuts off. It will start immediately, but when you put it into gear, it cuts off. had to have it...

sounds like the lockup converter is not releasing when you stop, like stopping with a stick shift and not pushing in the clutch. lockup solenoid most likely. Could just disconnect the lockup sol. (won't lock up at all) or replace the solenoid.
