I have a Prodigee break controller that I need to install in a 1997 Chevy Tahoe. The electric controls are already installed for the trailer, but no one ever put in a break controller. We are having troubles getting to the wiring to put it in and cannot find instructions anywhere on how to get it installed.
Not 100% sure if this will help but go here and see... if you already haven't.

Best of luck.
SOURCE: 2005 Chevy Tahoe Trailer Running Lights Out
Depending on what type of trailer you have, a blown lightbulb on one marker could kill them all (like the old Christmas light strings). Look at those, and make sure your ground is good.
SOURCE: Cant fold down the rear seat in our 1997 Chevy Tahoe
in the middle of the seat cushions in the back of the seat there is a little loop, pull that loop forward and that will have the seat's bottom pulled down to the floor agains the back of the front seats. Next simply apply a lil muscle to the back of the back seats and the seats should fold down nicely into the open space. Be sure to remove the headrests so the seat will fold all the way down. post any issues u may have.

SOURCE: Have prodigy trailer brake control Have
When installing the trailer break controller, 4 things must be considered carefully and objectively . 1.Safety regarding the mounting of the controller with respect to the drivers ability to control the vehicle without any hindrance whatsoever . 2.The dirvers ease of access (and control) of the coltroller while actually driving.....not sitting in the driveway....and lastly.... 3. The expected and assured 100% faith in the controllers ability (by the driver) to function without failure (no exceptions allowed) AND as designed to function (not ***-u-med), by properly mounting the unit and performing the correct electrical aspects of the installation without "shortcutting or jerry rigging" (no exceptions allowed)
4. The trailer brakes themselves. Ie. Shoes, drums, actuators, mechanical and electrical components etc. And last.....but too often forgotten....axle bearings maintenance / checkups / and tires condition and proper air pressure attained with a reliable tire guage....Did I mention checking the trailer lights functions ??? Good Luck...Happy Safe Motoring..
Remove the driver's side knee bolster.
Push down on the small tab and disengage the electrical connector.
Remove the pedal bolts and remove the pedal and sensor assembly.
Installation is the reverse of removal.
hope this helps
