Sounds like the multi-function switch is faulty.

SOURCE: Signal And Brake lights

Check also if brake light switch activated with brake pedal is working. Measure voltage at its terminals to be 12V. If not check for any fuse blown or loose fuse holder case or ground.

SOURCE: flashing lights! dash and headlights

RESET PROCEDURE

With the ignition off, press the TRIP and RESET buttons at the same time you turn on the ignition. HOLD the buttons for 10 sec and the instrument cluster will go into a diagnostic sequence. I dont have the codes but you can find them online (999 means ok).

Doing this procedure will reset the dash cluster which will solve most of the problems.

SOURCE: headlights won't work

Look under the Hood and Locate the Fuse Relay Box. There are Relays in this Box for these Lights. They might be Labeled ILLUMINATION, Not Sure But, They are in there. The Diagram of what is What should be Inside the Box Cover, If not, It is inside the Owners Manual. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

SOURCE: My Stop lights are not working.

The brake system error code is for a faulty master cylinder. check the cylinder function and check your brake fluid level as well. the master cylinder is located on the fire wall directly in line with the steering wheel under the hood. the brake fluid reservoir is located and attached to the master cylinder on top. check the master cylinder and fluid thoroughly.

Concerning the brake lights, you will need to inspect the wiring harness in the trunk or back hatch. make sure the brake light wiring harnesses is in good condition. check the bulb housing as well.

replace the brake light wiring harness if found to be faulty.

SOURCE: Dashboard lights don't work

Make sure that when you check the fuses you use a test light applied to both sides of the fuse you are testing. It can be very difficult to see a fuse that is blown when the fuse is blown near the edges. PS the dash fuse is by itself and needs to be checked when the light switch is on.

10 Chevy HHR my brake light don't work. I already checked the fuse and replaced the bulbs, brake switch and blinker switch can you tell me if there is a brake light relay or what else I can check.

You have battery voltage at the fuse , not current . You won';t have current flow until the light's work . The brake switch does not have the voltage value's you would think. An it's called a brake pedal position sensor , it is a low voltage sensor powered by the BCM - body control module .
Stop Lamps
The body control module (BCM) is responsible for controlling the stop lamps. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the BCM will receive a signal from the brake pedal position sensor. The BCM then supplies battery positive voltage to both left and right stop lamp assemblies and to the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL). The stop lamps are grounded at G401 and G403. The CHMSL is grounded at G302.

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop before you short out the BCM.

Which fuse cavity is the brake light switch (stop lights) for a 2014 Grand Cherokee diesel Summit?

This information would be on the cover for the fuse box or in the oweners manual in the glove box.
However brake lights are spific to brakeing running lights are on with the head lights and blinkers work all the time so do emergency lights .
Make sure of the real problem .

Brake lights 65 mustang stopped working.I wondered can the issue be in steering column

On a "one brake light bulb per side" setup, the brake switch feeds 12v to the turn/hazard switch, and the switch will apply 12v to both when no turn signal activated, the right only when the left signal is on,the left only when the right signal is on,and none when the hazards are on.With this in mind,it IS possible that the turn signal switch or wiring is the issue. If you are still running the original switch, try removing the switch and cleaning/regreasing the contacts(or look for something obviously worn or broken). If the switch is bad-hey,you got almost 50 years out of it! I'll bet you won't get that much longevity out of anything built now!

98 Chevy Tahoe, drivers side rear tail light assembly wont work, brake / turn signal. Replaced entire assembly, it worked for about 3 days then stopped working again. I need to get this fixed before I get...

I've got the same problem on 98 GMC Sierra.

I'm an electrical engineer, I checked the electrical diagrams and verified that there is no problem in the rear lamp assembly or wiring. With the light assembly unplugged, I can actually watch the blinker and brake signals operate with a voltmeter. The Tail light works OK.

It simply won't provide enough current to light the bulbs.

I'm afraid that it's melted one of a pair of normally closed contacts inside the blinker switch that feed the brake and turn separately on each side.

Your dash lites are on with headlamps off? I'd check the wiring for headlamp switch/dimmer. Not only check the fuses, check the fuse circuit for voltage, use a test lite. You could use a jumper to bypass dimmer, see if dash lites work.

BCM does not communicate with code reader.

Check that ALL body grounds are clean and tight. A faulty ground can cause these problems in any vehicle.

take a volt meter to the sockets and see if you get any voltage. if you don't, try a continuity test on the socket and see if there are any shorts, blown fuses are good indications of shorts. if you have no voltage and no shorts, you have cut wires somewhere along the lines. i'd say check your relays but if your not getting any voltage at all, it probably won't be relays. check it anyway
hope it helps
