What does the dsl light mean and work - 2000 BMW Z3

That light means that the shift points have changed on the transmission. This is to get better economy when hauling. If it wont stop flashing then there is a valve in the transmission that is bad or sticking. You will have to have it removed and overhauled..

have vechicle code scan the ECM has spot a problem with the engine control system.could have engine misfire or EVAP leak or bad sensor many things will cause engine management light to come on.go by auto zone or any auto parts stores they code scan car for free.

assuming dsl means diesel...these engines are not capable of creating vacuum to driveyour power brakes, they use an external source of vacuum, called a vacuum pump. they are either belt driven or electrical...given your age i would say belt driven...

what this means is you have a indicator light not working or its working but with a bad earth so its not flashing properly that all it means

It can mean 2 things, different cars have different lights, if it was a ford, and the battery light came on, it would mean it was charging. If your bmw light comes on, it could mean it is low,, needs charging,, or is charging. I would check the battery cond before I went any farther. Check the voltage at park, nothing on, not running, then fire it up and check the voltage again. Check the water level in the battery, then check the electrolytic fluid in the battery with one of those floaty ball things. they work great. My wife's battery just died, no warning, went down to 5 volts, worked fine in the morning, 4:00, it was deader than a doughnut. Check it out.

You mean the truck parking lights dont work, or the trailer running lights dont work? Does the trailer just have tail lights or does it have front and rear side markers? I think you mean the trailer lights. Check for power at the plug,(Brown Wire) if there is power, then you could have wiring problems, but a better description of what works and what doesnt work needs defining.

you mean the shifter???? make sure that your brake lights work. it uses the brake light switch to unlock the shifter. if they dont work, check fuse and if the brake light switch is working correctly.

It means Daytime Running Lights. If the light is on, that means the light bulb for the DRL is out or not working.
