probably resetting the ECM or if the radio is not working , the code for it

First thing to do is look carefully in the owners manual. A good mechanic [or owner] will write the code in either the main manual or the manual for the radio. If there is no code available, go to any Lexus dealer's parts department. Be SURE to bring your auto registration with you [to prove you own the car] The parts guy will be able to look up your radio code using the VIN [vehicle identification number] listed on your registration. Usually, there is no charge for that.
Your owners manual will spell out the procedure for entering the security code [usually 4 or 5 numbers] to get the radio working again.

if you can get the radio out of dash there is a serial number on the top of radio call lexus number in the owners manual and they can retrieve the code or they will put you in touch with tech support. This way you dont have to go to the dealership and pay hefty charge for the two do three minutes work.

BEST TO USE A CODE SCANNER TO ERASE CODE.YOU COULD ERASE IT BY WITH IGNITION SWITCH OFF AND RADIO TURN OFF. REMOVING NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR 60 SECONDS THE MINIMUM TIME.BUT FACTORY WARNED YOU COULD LOSE RADIO PLAYING CODE.

Did you get the radio code when you bought it. Remove the negative battery lead for 20 minutes and replace. This should reset the radio and ask for the code to start afresh.
