I ran my 09 cobalt with no water it turned off on me and wont turn back on have anyideas whats the problem?

Your unit comes with gas or diesel so need to know which one each one has separate ways to fix the issue. If it's gas you have to prime the system first before getting it to run. To do this simply hold fuel pedal down half way then turn engine to the run position, listen to see if you here fuel pump humming in the fuel tank for 2 to 3 seconds if it does keep turning the key to off then to run about 10 times once the system is primed a trained ear may here the difference in the sound of the pump but try starting it with pedal half way down and crank engine for 5 seconds should start up right away. if not repeat procedure again. If it still does not run then hold fuel pedal all the way to the floor and crank the engine over for 10 seconds, this shuts fuel off if you have flooded the engine now wait for five minutes and repeat first step second time. If it still does not start then you need to replace the fuel filter as you have collapsed the fuel sock or the fuel filter is plugged. If after you replace fuel filter then you would need to do a fuel pump test. Also if you have a security system and killed the battery you count have security system that needs to be reset. That information for resetting I won't give out in public domain, call local mechanic or dealer for instructions. Do you have alot of weight hanging on your key chain? Your ignition tumblers are worn out. Replace the tumblers and it should fix it.
