SOURCE: Mitsubishi lancer SW automatic trans wont shift

yes it sounds like a solenoid,,but if this goes out it wont shift it all, i could be wrong,, try to explain.. theirs a cast alumn plate about 1 thick it bolts to the bottom of your transm,,,,for every gear their is a clyder with a shaft..in it operrated pressure,, now if you have a code on computer the engin light comes on. id say it is a solenoid... you can call the main company ask for repair..tell them and they will give u an opion..

SOURCE: Pajero IO (auto) Super select 4WD-i problems

Check Linkage for the 4WD transfer case, between the shifter and the case. if it is a direct case mounted shifter, you may need to remove it and check for obstruction.

Have you tried to shift it to 4H while at a slow roll in N? Sometimes that used to work for me in my older floor mount 4WD truck. Give it try!

Get your ECU (comp box) checked, it may be your speed sensor needs replacing, it's what tells your tranny too to shift....

SOURCE: transmission problem stuck in sport shift mode

I also have a 2009 Outlander Sportronic transmission with a V6 engine.
Bought it this summer ... transmission appeared fine but seemed to automatically slow down the vehicle using the engines compression whenever I let go of the gas pedal.
Now that the cold weather is upon us here in Canada, whenever I accelarate normally (not like a teenager) the transmission takes quite a bit of time to shift into second... If I rev up the engine (quick take off) it seems to help but the shifting of gears is not as smooth as I would expect it (mildly slips and kicks into second)...

The worst is when come to a complete stop ... then the transmission kicks coming down from the higher gears???

I read somewhere that this is because this transmission is a CVT type and is learning my driving habits in order to adjust itself so the vehicle becomes more fuel efficient... Not sure but if the trany is computer controlled then it must be poorly writen program...
I'm taking the car in to the dealer and will write back on the diagnostic they give me ...

I just got a 2004 tiburon 6 speed 4 cyl why is it when i shift when pressing on the gas the rmps go up but dont pick up speed ??? help

This is bad news either way, whether you have a manual or automatic transmission. The transmission is slipping if it an automatic or your clutch is worn out if it is a manual transmission.
Assuming you have an automatic, is may be the transmission is slipping because the transmission is not quickly shifting gears.

If you transmission shifts using hydraulic valves, there may be hope. You can add a can of SeaFoam transmission oil or similar product that helps stuck valves move. If you have solenoids used to shift the transmission based on motor RPM and pressure sensors, you need to go to a transmission shop to run more complicated tests. In that case, go to someone who is familiar with your vehicle model.

1990 olds 98 transission shifts hard when shifting in to gear from park and neutral. How to fix ? /

check transmission fluid level and condition. sounds like there may be a problem with the transmission shift drums/bands. these have a problem with the trans wearing out causing shift type problems. have the trans checked by a tranny shop.

I have a 1997 Saturn SW2 Wagon with 101,000 miles. In the last couple of weeks it has become very hard to shift the automatic transmission gear shift from Park to Reverse or Park to Drive. A repair shop...

If you don't believe the shop take it to another one. If they tell you the same thing then you have your answer. The cable could just need sprayed with some silicone or has worn thrue its jacket.

Instrument panel does not reflect gear shift

You need a shift position switch. Its located on the drivers side of transmission where the shift rod hooks to transmission.
