Car Revs up & down until it gets warmed up (intermittently)

You have a bad air intake manifold gasket. If it runs idling high, take a can of brake cleaner and spray it on the air intake manifold by the firewall. Spray it right where the air intake bolts on. There are 8 10mm bolts or nuts there. When you spray it while idling, the revs will come down. This makes sure that is the problem before you go any farther. air leak on the intake the gasket may be leaking. sometimes just needs the top bolting back down.... letting more air in than needed. vibration can cause the bolts to come lose.

Your toyota technician should know what a "cold starting solenoid" is. It is the little thing that works your throttle until the motor warms up and something else takes over. I'd suggest going to another technician.

HOT/WARM START ISSUE

Its a hot start issue.

Can be related to low fuel pressure or problem with crank sensor.

Also it can be weak battery or starter.

But possibilities are to be inspected to confirm what exactly it is.------

Look at the egr sinser Might be going out

Probably intermittent throttle position sensor.

Sounds pretty normal to me.

Sounds like you have an air leak from one of the vacuum lines. Does the engine idle normally when at normal running temperature?

could be the MAF sensor (mass airflow sensor) ??
