Deactivating the garage door opener

Honda Pilot has a group of three programmable buttons built into the overhead consol, near the rear view mirror. I set one to open the garage door, since this truck is a lease I would like to deactivate that signal before turning the vehicle back to the dealer.
Can you tell me how to do that?
Many thanks,
Lee

If you hold the 1st and 3rd botton down in your honda built in remote for aprox. 60 seconds or until the light next to the bottons goes out, this will erase the program from the car. You shouldn't have to mess with you garage door opener at all.

Thing to do is reprogram all the other remotes and leave that one out

  • Anonymous Dec 23, 2008

I installed garage doors for a couple years and told you what to do, the thing is the door opener learns the remote not the remote learning opener. The only way to deprogram is to reprogram or just see if you can remove the button on the Honda. THANKS FOR TRYING ??? seems like a insult being as I am the only one that answered and I know I am correct

What is the function of three buttons located between the two interior front dome lights in the 2006 honda pilot?

One button has one dot, the next has two dots, and the third has three dots? These are the "home link" buttons. They can be programmed to open your automatic garage door openers.

Here's how do replace it: go here! just type this in search box,on pc. 2009 honda pilot outside mirror replacement. then click on first link, good-day !

Factory garage door opener

If this is the 3 button HomeLink Transmitter usually centered overhead above the rear-view mirror, this should work:

While the engine is turned off follow these steps to program up to three channels:
1. Decide which one of the 3 channels (one of the 3 HomeLink buttons) you want to program.
2. Press & hold the desired button through step 3.
3. When the HomeLink indicator light begins to blink slowly(this may take up to 30 seconds), hold your hand-held garage door remote about 1 to 3 inches away from the buttons & then press and hold the button on your garage door remote. Continue to hold both buttons until the indicator light on the HomeLink begins to flash rapidly(this may take up to 90 seconds).

If it still doesn't work, make sure the batteries in your garage remote are not weak, and try again moving the remote back & forth and left & right or turning it upside down while programming.

Also note HomeLink will not work with older garage door openers, especially not with ones manufactured before April 1st 1982.

PROGRAM PRIUS GARAGE DOOR HOW DO I PROGRAM THE BUTTONS ON THE PRIUS' REAR VIEW MIRROR TO OPEN THE GARAGE DOOR

There was a minor change for mine to work.. see below..

- you must park your Prius close to the gate opener, leaving it running (obviously not in the way of the gate closing)
- Hold the button the the mirror and then push your garage door remote button and hold until the light on the mirror starts to flasyh fast. THIS programs the button on the mirror, but not the garage opener - yet (this was key for me)
- locate the "learning button" on the opener itself
- press the "learning button" on your gate opener and then get back into the Prius within 30 seconds (more time than it sounds) and press the SAME Homelink button you just programmed above. I don't recall how long I held the pre-programmed button, but the light will flash as I recall.
- Then, when working the garage door, you may need to hold the mirror button for a good second for it to work - but I had tried for months to get mine to work, and finally after reading many posts, the above sequence worked on my 2008 Prius with my Lift Master, Security + rolling codes garage opener.

Just - program the button on the mirror with your remote FIRST.. the garage opener will not work.. then use the Learn button on the garage opener and the SAME BUTTON you just programmed.. and it worked great for me. Not programming the mirror button first will not work. Using only the Learn button will not work. You must program the mirror first with the remote, then use the learn button and the SAME button on the mirror. Hope this helps.

2. Press and hold the middle button on the rear view mirror while holding a garage door remote 1-3 inches away from the mirror and pressing the remote button. Do this until the blinking LED gets noticeably faster.
3. Once programmed - use the garage door opener on the mirror thru 3 cycles or more to verify.

Side View Mirror Installation instructions needed

For a 2005 Honda Pilot, I am a complete Amateur and I had no problem installing this mirror.

1) Lower the window, and only remove the Interior MIRROR panel, NOT the entire DOOR Panel, as some sites my recommend.
2) Once the Interior Panel is removed, the power cable is attached to the mirror, remove this cable.
3) There are 3 Bolts that are BLACK (atleast in my vehicle) that need to be removed.
3) Once the bolts are removed, the mirror should come off easily.
4) Place the new mirror in place of the old one and secure all three bolts, and then secure the power cable.
5) Then place the interior panel back.

That is it!
