Could be water rail running around back of motor,,,could be heater core or hose . just some things to check...Could not be manifold gasket but maybe head gasket....

It was the heater core hose leaking at the plastic coupler. Good call....Thanks!

SOURCE: Trouble shoot 1988 Chevy s10 Tahoe v6 2.8 l

going by age of motor it sound like a "core plug" which has rusted, they love to put one in the block that covered by the fly wheel, if it is, when it goes it goes,!! this would mean removing the trans and plate to see, easy to fix when found, best to replace as many as you can and when done always use a coolant that stops rust, there is no quick fix that works on core plugs

SOURCE: 03 Tahoe, idles down, shuts off, gas pedal

Have someone listen at the gas cap for the fuel pump humm when you first start the motor and keep listening if it stops hummimg. The piump may wok when there is low pressure in line and stop after build up of pressure.

SOURCE: coolant leak on driver side of engine in the back

Its possible that you not over heated recently, but I'm wondering if you've checked your oil recently for the presence of coolant? It will make the oil "milky" looking. If you've got something like this, you may have a serious problem with the head gasket leaking... in which case you would probably have really low engine pressure.

If you've eliminated these possiblities, its more than likely just a minor hose or manifold leak. Check for splitting of any hoses near the water necks.

Keep in mind that stop leak does not know the difference between a leak, or a small water passage that if plugged could reduce the ability to cool. Radiator, and heater core passages can be fairly small, and if they get plugged up with tis stuff, you could create an even larger problem.

As far as the leak is concerned, be sure that it is not a heater hose, or one of those pesky quick release connections.
Since you mention the leak on the driver side, it might be something else.
You should inspect the intake and be sure that the water is not running from another place to the rear of the engine, and it only looks like the leak is back there. In a worst case situation, there is a freeze plug on the back of the head, and if this has reached the end of its life, it as well as others will have to be replaced.

Look at the water pump underneath ,and behind the pulley on the water pump,if it looks dry look for a heater hose or freeze plug to be the problem.

I smell gas but i'm not lossing any.

My first question is - is the check engine light on when you are driving ?
You could have a leaking injector which could be causing fuel to escape thru the exhaust. You could also have a leak in the vent system for the gas tank.
The need for coolant and oil if no leaks are visible usually means the engine is burning the fluids because of an internal engine leak or head gasket problem.

2005 Tahoe, temp gauge goes up then back down

Check your coolant level it may be low, that is the most common cause of this, air in the system. If the system is low you have a leak, find it.

Water leaking onto passenger side floorboard, soaking the carpet

Your heater core has developed a leak - the wetness on the passenger side carpet is engine coolant
from a heater core leak, or a leak in one of the two hoses connected to the back of the heater core.
Your strategy: disassemble dash down to heater core, determine whether you'll need a new heater
core or new hose (or new hose clamp), then replace the offending part.

The back heater in my 2005 tahoe only blows cold air, what is the problem?

the heater core is clogged. the heater core is like a mini-radiator that heats up the air blowing through it by cycling hot coolant from the engine's main radiator into itself.

No heat fan blows cold air

Check for low coolant,if coolant is low check for a leak.(water pump gaskets and or cracked head). If it is full check to see if you have heat on either side of your vehicle as this usually has driver and passenger heat controls. If it has heat on one side and not the other the side with no heat will need a mix door actuator for that side.

Vehicle began to overheat, started wanting to stall, service engine soon light came on

check coolant fluid level, after vehicle is cool allow vehicle to run adding coolant/water till the tank is full, then let it run for one minute and shutoff, allow engine to cool and **** in fluid, and more water and coolant (dextron coolant) and start the vehicle back up after it has cooled complety down. with the cap off the coolant place hand over cap, if you get immediate back pressure this isnt from thermal expansion is from a blown head gasket. also for this check to ensure water pump isnt leaking, because the pressure generated by a blown head gasket will blow out water pump seals, if there is no back pressure, but a leaking water pump, just replace the water pump.

Coolant leak on back side of engine. 94 susuki sidekick 4cyl 4x4

The back side of the cylinder head has metal fitting/pipe connected to a hose that goes to the heater system inside the cabin, the hose sometimes cracks off just behind the clamp holding it to the metal fitting/pipe.
