SOURCE: Replace rear passanger seat belt mechanism

The mechanism is located behind the plastic cover on the door side. You'll need to remove this trim piece to get at it. It's held on by screws. When you get to the mechanism it is held on by a torx bolt.
Good luck

There is a sensor under the seat cushion that is basically a weight sensor, if a certain weight is not sensed then the airbag is turned off, it must be defective.

SOURCE: how do I unjam a rear passenger seat belt from a hyndai accent 2000

i strongly recommend you take your vehicle to your vehicle's local dealer and have the belt removed from the door and then inspect the belt for damage. A damaged seat belt might break when you need it most. Seatbelts and safety are the most important thing!

Happy to help

SOURCE: stuck seat belts

Push and roll the seat belts all the way back into the container and then slowly pull them out.
If you do it fast they will lock.

SOURCE: seat belt stuck will not come out on passenger

I had an issue like this on a mustang I used to own. I hope this trick will work for you. Take a hammer and gently tap on the belt roller as you **** and release the belt. You may need to do this a few times. On my belt.. the roller was stuck in the locked position and I had to "unlock" it by jarring it and releasing the pressure. If this fails, you may need to replace the belt assembly. Hope this helps.

Subaru how to unlock seat belt

Not quite sure what you mean by got around passenger seat. But if the seat is blocking the belt from retracting, then you only need to unbolt the seat from the floor enough to manipulate the belt around the seat. Or just completely unbolt it all the way, you just need a 14mm deep socket and a ratchet. But if you mean the belt just won't retract, then you'll need a new retractor assembly. I hope this info helps!

Rear seatbelt locks while passenger is in it, you can only release it when you undo the belt

this is a ratchet seat belt, this is normal, it does this function for baby seats and capsules. Pull seat belt out all the way and then let it retract to disengage.

Rear seat belt is stuck in recline position. I recline the rear seat to make room and I can not raise the seat back up. The seat belt is not allowing the seat to raise

The problem:
The set belt stop has been lost so the seat belt retracts too far when the seat is laid flat. When laid flat the release mechanism locks as it should when not level so the seat cannot be raised up as the belt is too tight and locked.
The Solution:
1) Push the two little clips to release and remove the headrests.
Pull the grey lever on the right of the seat base, lift seat base up and forward toward the front seat..
2) See two red capped leversat the back of the two seat hinges and lever them to the upward position, this releases the seat.
Rock the very heavy seat unit upwards and lift complete unit upwards.
3) Take it out of the car and turn 180% so that the back of the seat and base are in the upward position and the seat belt will pull out as it should
4) Replace the missing belt locking stop (I used a tie pin permanently fixed using super glue).
5) Fold seat back down and test then either re-fit seat unit or leave out to decrease fuel consumption.. 2_5_2014_8_03_56_pm.jpg 5f6d2b58-2927-4184-9c82-d111e3a9591a.jpg e9f641fc-5fbc-4c21-a371-ff371d942b1a.jpg a357ac71-d6ed-4dc7-999c-04367d3d6e72.jpg

How to fix a stuck seat belt VW GTI 2009

I just solved the problem for a stuck rear center seat belt in my 2002 Jetta.

Flip the base seat cushion forward against the front seat backs. Trace down along the belt to its tether point on the floor. The belt is sewn around a steel loop. The loop is anchored to a black steel hook. A thin silvery retainer plate is spring tensioned on top of the loop to prevent it from sliding off of the hook when the seat back is folded.

Therefore, you need to press the silvery retainer plate away from the hook (push up) to allow the loop to be slid from the hook. The belt was tight with the seat back in the upright position, so it was necessary to fold the seat back forward to create slack in the belt. Now push the belt loop towards the trunk and slide it off of the end of the hook (only possible with the retainer plate pushed up out of the way).

Now with total release of tension on the system via the bottom end of the seat belt being untethered and with the seat back returned to the upright position, normal extension and retraction of the belt will be reestablished. Next, simply extend the seat belt and slide the loop back into place over the floor hook. It snaps past the silvery retainer plate without all the effort required to hold the plate up during removal of the loop during disassembly.

Check again, the seat belt should be extending and retracting properly. Now just put the seat cushion back into regular position and you will be able to safely buckle up three people across the back seat.

It took about as long to do this repair as it has taken to post this answer to the problem. Note, the seat belt safety mechanism only allows normal extension and retraction of the belt when the seat back is upright.

Rear seatbelt stuck behind head rest in locked position

haha we know you didnt do it on purpose, without seeing your problem and the hard to describe issue, i can only recommend to maybe try folding the seat to the cargo position, if that helps. if not, then you will more than likely need to disassemble the rear quarter panel, and unbolt the seat belt retractor from the body of the vehicle. sorry but there is no other way
