SOURCE: 2002 ford taurus won't start at first crank in the morning

remove the air filter housing from the throttle body, or if its mult-ported injection, remove the large air duct. Do this the night before. The next day, before cranking and having a spray can of carb. cleaner, spray a couple of shots of carb cleaner either into the large air duct, spray towards the engine, or if its single body injection, spray directly on to the throttle body.

Crank engine immediately, preferrably have some one else sitting in the car to start it after you spray.

If the car even tries to start, replace cold start relay.

SOURCE: 98 FORD RANGER

when this happens check for spark at the plug,
and have someone crank it over for you and check for fuel pressure at the bleeder valve is there fuel but just trickles out check with pressure gauge.
next check crank sensor if you have a dis system.
if all else fails check the ECM or the ignition module
hope this helps

SOURCE: Engine wont stay running. Please help.

change the filter first. IF the pumpwas bad it wouldnt start at all. It could be going bad but the only way to really test it is to pull your gas tank and at that rate you may as well replace it.

you could have a clogged injector causing the lack of fuel as well. you can try injector cleaner, Lucas is my personal preference I use it at every fill-up. 4-6oz per tank of gas depending on your tank size.

Engine will crank but will not turn over

our experiensces of this when all is going well - was the car ran out of gas......or stop getting gas....ensure the gas matter & pour a little gas over the carberator & give it another try or so....when you are driving & it just goes dead slowly - fuel-connected circumstances are usually the 1st problem.....

got fuel, starter working, battery ok etc. - its a fuel matter more than likely.....

My car ran out of fuel. I filled it with a gallon. Now my car starts but cranks and stops after few seconds. Do I need to bleed air from the fuel lines? How?

No by you running the car completely out of gas and then putting 1 gallon back in tank, you stired up the residue in tank and the fuel filter is plugging up with all the residue. The best thing to do is remove the fuel filter and replace it with a new filter. Hope this will help you.

The car started good and then stalled about a mile down the road. we thought it ran out of gas, after putting gas in, the car still wont start.

make sure it not time to replace the fuel filter you can do this put in some STP gas treatment if the car runs better replace the fuel filter and the sparkplugs also give these websites atry www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your car make sure you have a half of tank of gas and add a little more when you put the gas treatment in and drive on a back roard where you can drive around 55-mph wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

Car wont start

THere is no gas in the fuel rail at the time gas is running out. WHen you fill the tank, it needs to pump for a while so fuel can fill up the rail then the Fuel distributor so it can build up pressure for the injectors to work properly. It need to continue cranking at least 2 minutes. However you don't want to run out the battery, so can just turn on the key to hear the sound of the fuel pump stops, then turn key off turn key on again. Repeat this for 6 times then start the engine. The reason for it is that every time the key is on it turns on the fuel pump to prime the line then turns pump off after a specific time, then it turns on again only when key is at ignition position. By doing this you help to pump gas into the fuel rail instead of the starter continue cranking draining down battery fast. Cheers.

I was driving my car and it ran out of gas its a 98 chevy malibu so then i put gas in the car and now it wont start it'll it wascranking up but now it starts to crank up and doesnt crank up all the way...

You might want to have your fuel filter replaced. When you run a tank that low, the fuel pickup takes in debris and sediment on the bottom of the tank, which may be clogging the filter, preventing gas from flowing.

Ran out of fuel

The reason is: When you completely run out of gas your gas lines are completely drained of fuel. When you refuel the car the fuel lines are still empty, and you will need to crank the car until the fuel pump has filled the gas lines and established the correct fuel pressure.I also suggest you turn key to on position to let electrical system run fuel pump and when ready to crank over engine have battery hooked up to a battery charger this should do it!!
