The fuel pump relay is located in the fuse box located under the hood.

SOURCE: how do i replace the fuel pump on a 1992 gmc sonoma?

The fuel pump is in the tank, tank can be droped out to chg.pump, Its up to you how you want to do it but for me i always found it easier to unbolt the bed and lift it back about a foot and i could get right at it, and i did not have to mess with the tank straps and fuel lines, If that is the problem. Chk.fuses and relay first.

1989 chevy cavalier z24 strats but stalls rapidly

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

The engine stopped running while driving down the road. It has gas in it. I had my wife turn the key and the engine trys to start but I did not seee the belt turning while the engine was cranking. What do...

I've had an Alternator...that simply died and you just described the same scenario.

You could take it to a parts store and have them bench test it. Most do this for free. But I recommend doing that before I'd simply replace it.

You have not expressed that there was any noises such as clicking, tapping, whirring or such that would be indicating a relay or solenoid or even that the starter went kuuput. If it's trying to start and the belt was moving, my first thought would be to look at the fuel filter, even a few other compenents such as idle air control valves, sometimes these may need to be cleaned, or perhaps even the throttle positioning sensor.

But you say the engine simply stopped while driving, you say it has fuel and indicate the battery is good since it trys to start, but since the belt does not move. The alternator is what I would be focused on. Get it bench tested. If it is low and test show the amps are near or below the bottom scale for it. Replace it.

Hope you find something helpful in this

I have fire too my spark plugs no dash codes or check engine light comming on fuel pump does not appear too be working its throttlebody so i sprayed gas in it truck still wont start its ah 1995 4.3 sonoma...

Try using a throttle body cleaner, spray it in the intake, behind the butterfly and all that carbon will run out. You say the fuel pump don't seem to be working. Have you checked the relay. On the other hand can you hear the pump come on by listening at the gas tank neck. Have someone to turn the switch to ON position (not Start) and you listen to hear for the pump to kick on.Another way to check is to take the fuel filter inlet hose loose from the filter and turn the switch on and gas should be pumped out. If it does not, the pump is gone.
