Frequently will not start. Battery is good, all lights.accessories work, selonoid clicks when key turned and red light (security) illuminates and all guages go off, headlights come on. When held in start position - clicks every second with flashing sedcurity (red light) and headlights. When key released, all guages return to normal pre-start condition. No codes displayed on 3 x Key-cycle sequence. After many tries (sporadically) engine starts and runs well with no problem indicators on dash or unusual performance. When engine turned off, same symptoms return.
On my 2004 ram 2500, I had to depress the trip odometer button and turn on the Ignition. all lights on instrument panel will illuminate, continue to hold button in and tach/speedomenter will run full up and back down. once this has completed, the obd codes will be shown in the odometer.

My truck started doing the same thing today. Now it won't even click when the key is turned. Battery is good and all gauges work. This pisses me off!
January 11, 2009 .....my Dodge Ram 1500 is doing the same thing. I went to start it this morning and all is dead. Battery is good. "Security red light flashing quickly". I did not even know it had a security system in my truck. How to fix? MWB
