SOURCE: 2001 Rodeo rough idle in drive, and sometimes on the highway

Check the overdrive accumulator cover on the transmission for any leaks. This can cause some rough idle situations and minor slipping but if caught early enough isn't bad to fix.

SOURCE: 2000 ISUZU TROOPER WITH AUTO TRANSMISSION. CHECK

If the fluid is up -
it could be a vacume loss or the shifting module..
The shifting module is what tells it to shift - and it is controled by vacume pressure..

What is a valve-body solenoid and where is it located in a 1998 Isuzu rodeo

The valve body solenoid is a valve inside an automatic gearbox that controls the flow of transmission fluid when it changes gear. It is built into the gearbox casing. This is a big job to do and it will be an expensive one so your better to get a good mechanic to do it.

On my 2001 isuze rodeo is the shift solonoid inside the transmission and or can it be changed without pulling the trans. ?

It is inside the transmission under the belly pan mounted to the valve body. You just remove the transmission pan (not the transmission for heavens sake) and replace the shift solenoid pack.

Most are bolted around the valve body and you have to drop the tranny pan to get to them.

Where on the transmission -- is the shift solenoid located on the 2002 Isuzu Rodeo

It is located just under the pan in a block called the valve body, it contains 2 shift solenoids, and a million little canals for oil. There is no drain plug on it, just have to drop the pan and spill out the fluid, that drips for months afterward. You can change these things if you are handy, if not, don't even attempt it. Watch out for the check balls,
