Hi Don Everson, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? You might want to see if you can get a used BCM at the salvage yard. If you want to troubleshoot the draw, try pulling fuses with the key off and then using a test light across the fuse socket terminals. Any fuse socket that lights the test light brightly is using too much power. Once you find the circuit with the draw, you will have to trace the circuit to each component being fed and test those components. When the dash goes crazy, it's usually because the battery voltage is very low or the bcm is acting up. Also good to make sure the bcm isn't getting wet in any way.

Check for loose / dirty ground wires and points
indicates a voltage circuit being broken and the ECM is loosing voltage to work

SOURCE: have to unhook battery for 2002 monte carlo to start

sounds like you have a bad ground. There should be a motor ground on the back of the motor anas well as the battery ground. The battery going dead could be caused by this or a bad regulator in the altenator unplug the altenator to check this for the starting problem

SOURCE: 2001 Monte Carlo battery goes dead over night

9 times out of 10 it is the factory amplifier. I had this same problem and it was the amplifier. Disconnect the amp located in the trunk by the speakers and see if the drain continues. You will not have music, but having the amp replaced with an aftermarket one will solve this problem,

Van battery is always dead in morning

The car is using power overnight, so that the battery has drained by morning. Make sure every light is turned off when you leave it.

Battery drains while car is not driven

Try charging the battery out of the vehicle. If it holds a charge, you have an open circuit somewhere. Check your light switch first. Make sure the interior lights are off.

The car will go dead over night and i think that it is the security system.

Have your battery tested, you might just need a new battery. If your battery is good, then you might be right in your thinking.

Battery dies for no apparent reason if truck sits

Fantom power drain. Make sure nothing is plugged into the lighter Make sure no lights are on like under hood or visor mirrors Turn off radio and make sure no cd/tape is in
Ignition switch might be bad A good battery should last 2 weeks just sitting. A old battery will go dead overnight especially if cold

2001 Pontiac Bonneville won't start

have you not left any load on overnight?..like park light or left the door partially open and the dome light would be left on?

have the battery recharge and the next night, make sure that no light would be left on the car.

if it would drain out again, have it recharged again, use it and on the night, make sure no light is left on the car, then remove the positive pole on the battery overnight.

the next morning, put the positive cable back and start the car.

if the car would start, then no problem with the battery, if the car would not start, then return the battery because it is defective.

tnx 4 using fixya,

When sitting over night the battery goes dead, also while driving the gauges drop off and then all the lights come on as if i just started the car

you have a weak alternator it needs replaced .... unless it has an external regulator then that could just be shorted out
