Forget the torque wrench and just nip it up with a ring spanner and a two finger pull this will give it about 15lb which is about right ,you cannot do this sort of thing with a torque wrench as the threads can be a bit tight with dried oil or whatever and you must feel the thing correctly like playing with a nice female, think the lock nouts are a 13mm spanner size on this car also if the timing belt breaks then its a valve free engine so no damage will occur ,gas are 12 inlet and 14 th inlet if i remember rightly and allow for wear under the fingers but this engine is so well made i have never seen a worn one as yet

Torq spec for front axle nut on a 2008 ford escape

Use no more than 15 to 20 ft. lbs. of torque. Rotate the wheel to make sure the bearings are seated. The adjustment nut is then loosened 1/6 to 1/4 turn, and locked in place with a new cotter pin. As a rule, endplay should be about 0.001 to 0.005 inches.

How do I adjust the valves on a 1998 old bravada 4.3 vortec

You don't. They are non-adjustable hydraulic lifters. GM's spec for torque on the rocker arm nuts: Tighten the valve rocker arm ball studs to 47 N·m (35 lb ft). Once the valve rocker arm nuts are installed and properly torqued, no additional valve lash adjustment is required.

I need to know the order that you tighten the rocker arms.# 1 piston is at tdc, which int exh valves need to be tightened before i rotate the engine.then which follow suit.i replaced the pushrods so my...

adjust the valves in the order the cylinders fire one cylinder at a time turning the motor for each, slightly loose.start the car and let it warm up a bit then adjust the valves while running.most techs go down one side then the other. you don`t say what motor it is,but some motors valves rocker arm nuts are torqued so you can torque the rocker nut for all the cylinders, then start the car and let it run so the lifters will pump up and thats all you have to do with this type of system,as there is no other adjustment to do.
