So u have a CH/CG lancer

you would need to remove the two 10mm bolts from the coil packs and leads and then stick the smaller version of spark plug socket in remove them, bear in mind if u have a mivec motor the spark plugs MUST be Platinum :)

basic rules.

1 remove the cable.
2. use the right size socket and insert it to the plug.
3. loosen the plug and clean or replace.
4. tighten it back.
5. do it one at a time. it would be confusing to install the wires back if you pull them at the same time.

My 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Jerks and sometimes loses power. What can it be?

This could be just a problem with the ignition. Check if all the plugs are getting sparks by pulling one at a time the hi tension wire that covers the spark plugs while the engine is running. Check also the rubber plug, the hi tension wire itself. If all checks out you may want to inspect the ignition coil and the fuel filter if it needs replacing.

Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally 2003 hesitates while driving

before anything i had the problem and this is the way i solved it ... the lancer has 2 ignition coils in 2 cylinders what you do is take the iginition coil out of the cylinder that is misfiring and change it to another cylinder and put the car on the odb reader again it should change location of misfire .. then that would tell you that its the ignition coil thats bad i ended up getting my coil at the dealer for $110 ebay has some aftermarket pairs for $100 so you can get 2 now for the price i paid for 1 that will solve the problem guaranteed owne d a lancer for 5 years know the ups and downs to them
