1999 Plymouth Voyager Signal Lights

I have a 99 Plymouth Voyager. The signal lights work off and on(not a joke). Sometimes they work and sometimes they will blink a few times then quit and sometimes they will come back on and other times they won't. I've also noticed that when the signal lights go off the daytime running lights also go off. Can you help me?

SOURCE: R&R Starter 1999 Plymouth Voyager w/3.3 V6

The likely problem is the contacts in the solenoid on the side of the starter. Does the solenoid click when trying to start the car? Disconnect one battery cable before doing anything with it. I fixed mine by removing the end of the solenoid case and building up the badly eroded input terminal bolt head with silver solder--worked great. You have to work under the car to get to these parts--use jack stands for safety.

SOURCE: no turn signal, hazard lights, drl

The problem is most likely the turn signal switch located in the steering column, tough to replace without the proper experience and specialized tools. The air bag and steering wheel need to be removed to replace the switch.

SOURCE: my 1999 plymouth voyager van's radiator fan constantly on

The fan on this van is electric and heat activated. It will run when the thermostat shows the tempurature is too high regardless of whether or not the engine is on.

If it is working correctly it should turn off in no more than 10 minutes assuming the engine weren't actually overheating.

If it is staying on longer than that, the fan's thermostat may need to be replaced.

If the fan comes on when the engine is cold, then you can be pretty sure the thermostat is the culprit.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: '99 Plymouth Grand Voyager fan switch issues

The problem is not with the switch, it's the blower motor resistor. The resistor is usually located in duct work near the blower motor. It will have 4or 5 wires going to it and is held in place with a couple screws. These things generate heat, so they put them in duct work so the fan blows air across them to keep them cool. Sometimes the plug gets hot and melts, you should be able to buy the resitor and the plug with wires (pig tail) from an auto parts store or a dealer. The resistors are usually about $50 the pig tail is about $30.

You are having problems with grounding issues. Take your turn signals apart and clean the corrosion out of the light sockets. Replace any bulbs that are blackened inside or not clear. When all the light sockets are clean all blinkers should work/flash correctly.

Brakes lights are not working.

The first thing to check is the brake switch(es) that are on the brake pedal lever, and the circuit for the third brake light is seperate from the normal brake lights.

If the brake light switch(es) and wiring do check out alright then the problem will most likely be in the turn-signal switch, and the brake lights are ran through the turn-signal switch.

No signal lights at all and no emergency flashers

you need to check the "combination turn signal/hazard flasher/daytime running lights module"
it is located in the junction block, the junction block is adjacent to and left of the steering column, you need to remove the lower dash panel below the steering column, then remove the steel knee brace.

Signal lights not working

The fuses should be by the battery in the Power Distribution Center. It should have a good illustration label under the cover. There is also a Junction Block/fuse panel in the drivers area under the dash. If you have the "Owner's Manual" there is a section on fuses. You'll have two different fuses. The Hazard lites are on their own circuit. That model of Mini-Van had a lot of issues with the flasher unit. Called "Combo Flasher" There were two types. With out without "Daylight Running Lamps". Located in the junction Block in the drivers area under the dash.
