03 honda civic 1.7L p0401 EGR code.

In fixing this code, it is quite common for people to just replace the EGR valve only to have the OBD code return. The EGR valve is not always the culprit. Use a vacuum pump and pull the EGR valve open while monitoring engine RPM's & DPFE voltage. There should be a noticable difference in RPM's with the EGR open Clean out the EGR valve and/or tubing to remove deposits Check the voltage at the DPFE, compare to specified values (refer to a repair manual for your specific model) Replace the DPFE sensor (with a good quality / OEM one)

Locate egr valve on 2003 honda pilot engine

It is on the top area of the engine, it is a valve that circulates exhaust into the intake manifold, so it is on the intake. One picture can tell a 1000 words so here is a picture of the part on the SOHC 3.5L V6.

Where is the EGR valve location on a honda accord ex 1999.

Here is a picture of where the EGR Valve is located. Replacing it is fairly simple and straightforward. A vacuum line and a couple of bolts. You'll see what you have to do when you look at it.

If you are replacing the EGR Valve due to the Check Engine Light (MIL) being on with a DTC P0401 then I suggest contacting your Honda Dealer. There was a Product Update Campaign (PUD) in the fall of 1999 that corrected the problem.

Random missfire all cylinders 1996 honda civic sohc

Check the EGR valve system. Honda's are prone to the exhaust supply to the EGR valve getting clogged with carbon at the valve port entrance. A clogged EGR valve can cause the engine combustion temperature to climb and then for pre-ignition miss-fire events to become common. The EGR is located inside the elbow of the air filter pipe at the back of the engine on the left beneath the coil. Anything you can temporarily remove to provide access the better. The EGR valve has two bolts, an electrical connector and a vacuum line attached to its top. Take it off and give it a really good clean, carburettor or brake cleaner works well in conjunction with cloths and brushes. Once cleaned like new replace everything including the vacuum line and electrical connector.
