I'm working on my brothers 1992 GMC Z71 K1500 v8 5.7liter truck start it, it runs for few seconds then dies. I've replaced cap, rotor, injectors, fuel filter, ignition control module, ignition coil, plugs and wires and it still doing it. So does anyone have any ideas what else i can try, like how to change the pickup coil?
I have the same similar issue my motor was crate completely brand new. fires up every time.. go to take off and at idle both tries to die out and fall on its face...no get up and go and it should have PLENTY. ive changed fuel pressure regulator, checked all vacumn lines tried rotor coils etc.. still trying to fall on its face and sounds like its missing... so frusterating!
I saw what you replaced, didn't see any testing? Any applicable trouble codes? Use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, TBI--9--13 psi. As an example, 5 psi fuel pressure makes a nice looking injector spray pattern, but, 5 psi won't start and run a v8. My opinion.
Could be other issues.

hi there, if you can feel the misfire at an idle but not at a higher rpm than the fuel pressure regulator is bad im working on one right now that has mifire code and random misfire codes coming up

You might have computer problems.
Does the check engine light come on when it starts to miss?

You might try checking the timming if it is out depending on the milage you might need to replace the timing chain and guides good luck
