My car did this and there was a mouse nest in the blower causing it to be off balance. Took the fan out and cleaned out the nest....all better.

SOURCE: My heater fan was making noise but was still

your blower mototr stopped turning , the noise you heard was one of the cage weights came loose and put the blower cage off ballance, first you need to locate the blower fan and check to make sure it has 12 volts, if so then you need to use a jumper wire to ground the other wire going into the blower motor, if this turns the blower motor on then you have a blower motor resister out and need to replace it.

SOURCE: Fan Blower Makes noise

Sounds like the fan needs to be replaced. But first, to check for obstructions, remove the carpet liner from the underside of the dash on the passenger side and you'll see the blower motor under the dash held in with three screws. If there's something obvious blocking it, remove it and reinstall the fan. If there's nothing blocking it, then you'll probably need to replace the fan. Any auto parts store, Rockauto.com or E-Bay will have the correct fan for your Grand Prix.

Could be the bearing in the fan motor going bad.

Heater is blowing cold air and there is a noise coming from around the blower motor area?

Check your coolant reserve tank and fill it if needed.

If the coolant is fine try flushing the heater core, follow ChrisFix's instructions in the vid linked below.

As a side question:
Were there any loose wires that could have been caught near the fan when you replaced it? They'll make a buzz noise if they're touching the fan blades.

How to fine defrost noise when turning heat on

This can be many things, but most common is debris in the heater fan motor area. Hard to fix without removing fan motor and blowing out heater ducts, but sometimes compressed air blown through ducts can clear it out.

Weird noise and vibration in the dash when I turn my heater on in my 2003 Chevy trailblazer LS... When the heat is higher then the #3 setting it vibrates bad I can feel it all the way down in the petals......

Your heating system is broke in the dash. The doors or gates that change where the air is to go, has a broken hindge or actuator. Your heat is set to defalt to the defrosters as a safety thing. The vibration, I would say, is your fan & it may have been the thing that started your whole problem. The fan has something wrong W/ it, weather it has dropped, the shaft that it runs on is bad, or it is just going to the bad. To fix, the whole dash has to be dropped so that the gates or doors can be accessed for repairs & the fan, it's half in & half out of the passenger compartment. I've had 3 or 4 dashes out to do this work but it is TIME CONSUMING. Wish you the best, GOD BLESS.....

Replace heater blower motor

working in there is no easy task,
why not put pressure on all the HVAC parts in cab, one by one
as it makes noise, to see if the sound changes.
its the blower bad
or there is debris stuck in it.
or there is a loose part near by that vibrates in sympathy to the fan vib's , some times one can put a wedge in the parts casings and stop noise.

the HVAC is like 8 hour, in +out. horrid job. and lots of things can get busted doing it. collateral damage.

Loud noise when a/c and defrost are on

I would check the fan motor for the heater sounds like the bearing is going out. Does it scream and then go quite or rumble if so it is probably the heater fan. It will run and blow air but it will make a lot of weird noises. If you shut the fan off and the noise goes away it is the fan.

My Tempeture Gage in my car goes up way too fast and warm air is not blowing into the vehicle. There is occasionally a clanking noise near the heater core underneath the center of the dash, I have no idea...

recheck fluid fill and reservoir, Make sure waterpump is circulating, Is the occasional clank when operating controls? Possible air flow control door sticking or binding. Also a possible heat air bubble popping in core. Also fan blower motor making contact with housing or blower cage
