I own an slt 4wd. The front passenger tire appears to be leaning inward. There is also excessive tire wear on the inside of the tire and about a 2 inch difference in ride height from the driver side. would shocks cause this?
SOURCE: front tires are leaning in
You probably need ball joints, unless you have large aftermarket tires which means you only need an alignment.
SOURCE: tire shop says tire wear is due to bad rear struts
you need to replace only the shock cartridges. Also have the tires rebalanced.
When you receive advice from this website you have to understand that without the item in front of us, we are only able to provide "a best guess" as to what the problem might be based on you description of the defect. If you haven't described a clear and precise description of the defect you decrease the chances of an accurate reply. Thank you.
SOURCE: uneven tire wearing in rear. new shocks or springs?
yes more than likely shocks are bad and not keeping the tires firmly planted on the road.Make sure tires are balanced too. Also have alignment checked (all 4 wheels)
SOURCE: Excessive tire wear vibration in steering
Possible causes: Tire or Wheel out of balance, Loose or worn wheel bearings, struts and/or suspension components worn or damaged. 3 sets of tires is pretty excessive and if vibration has been there through most of the sets take a look at the wheel bearings. Has dealer even checked these other areas?
