Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You need to check your radio fuse first. It may have blown. If it hasn't, you may need a radio code to unlock it, say if you have lost power to it due to a battery disconnection. If not, you need to check the wires in the back of the radio. They may be damaged or they might have just came loose.

SOURCE: 1997 Crown Vic blows radio fuses

The quickest way to find a short circuit is by putting a bulb in place of the fuse. Anytime the time the bulb lights there is a load. And if the load is a shorted wire the brightness of the bulb will give you a hint. So while you're at it, finding a 'short' is a quicky...keep your eyes on the bulb. gotcha!

SOURCE: where is the wiper control module

i believe it is part of the wiper motor which should be located in the driver's side rear corner of the engine bay, on the firewall. Many 03 and up Fords use a "Smart motor" for the wipers which has the motor and a module in one piece.

2004 Crown Vic tran whines in low gear only, took ...

It's normal on the AOD transmissions. Their first gear uses straight cut gear and thus has the whining noise. Gear 2, 3 and 4 are helical gears and thus quiet.

Try checking all the grounds for the radio, over time they can weeken. If that doesn't work, put in a new ground wire with a heavier gauge, that should fix it. It sounds like a ground problem.

Good luck, Daniel
