Hello, did you check the fuel pump relay also? It is in position H in the fuse box under the panel on the passenger side. Can you hear the fuel pump run when you turn the key on? Fuel filter clean?
Checked fuel pressure at the fuel rail? If the fuel pump is not coming on, need to determine if it has voltage at the connector on the tank. If voltage is present, and ground is good, then the pump is bad. I hope this helps.

Fuel is probably stale. Pump or pump relay might be stuck.

I suggest you check the fuel delivery to the fuel rail. If no delivery the pump isn't working and the supply should be checked and then take the appropriate action depending whether the supply is good or not.

I just put a new 4.3L vortec engine in my 1997 chevy c1500 w/t, it has sat for about 4 months and now it will not start unless i dump gasoline into the throttle body. help please?

CAn you hear the fuel pump come on when you turn the key to the on position before cranking it?
It should run for 3 seconds then turn off. It will sond like an insect buzzing in your tank. That would be the first thing to check. If it is not running you will not get fuel to the engine. There is a fuel pump fuse in the panel that I would look at if no sound from the pump. There is also a fuel pump relay usually on the firewall up near the brake booster that you can check if the fuse is good. It will make a click sound when it shuts off after the 3 second mark. If all of the above passes, check for power at the relay with a test light and hope it is not the pump. The fuel tank has to be dropped to change out the pump. I get them from Ebay for 20 bucks and they have worked great.
Hope this helps

No fuel pressure when cranking over. dump gas down carb and runs til fuel is gone. Its a 89 caddy deville with 4.5, has sat for two years. Is it the fuel pump or could it be the fuel relay? If relay, where...

More often than not it is the fuel pump, especially with sitting for a couple years, hopefully empty if not try and get out as much of the old gas as possible when you replace the pump.

Car turns over but won't start.

Have you checked the fuel pump relay with an ohmmeter/multi-tester? You will have to follow the power lines to find it. I would check the relay first. Then check fuel rail fuel pressure. It may be faulty fuel pressure regulator or a sensor. Is your check engine light on? If so, I would have the codes read to pinpoint exact problem location. Check your spark to make sure each plug is firing.

If you want more info let me know.
