Oct 28, 2009 - My passenger side window is not responding to either the driver side orpassenger side switch. It is in the up position and wont go down.
you need to get a new window regulator,,,
the inside the regulator the cable came out of the
plastic wheels.
or the bolts holding the regulator broken
your window motor it work fine....
its usely the switches on the drivers door get a switch bundle from the auto wreckers .i dont deal with this enough to know why when the drivers switch wears out it affects both front windows .very common on chevy canyons. < japanease switches. new switches are insanely priced thats why suggest a auto wrecker switch bundle.
That calls for a new switch on that door. If the driver's switch works the rear window, that indicates the wiring is in order and the window motor is fine. The rear door's window switch must be defective.
It will be in the switch lift up the controls on both the drivers side and passenger side the wires going into the connection wiggle then and the button at the same time if you get any movement then you have a broken wire if not use a test light hook one wire to some metal and the other to the wires if their is any power the light will come on, if no light then you probably have a broken wire. The passenger side power comes from the drivers side control. When you open the doors you will see a large black set of wiring harness in the door going into the side under the dash that is the wiring harness for all the power windows and door locks, open it and test those wires for power.
