My Land Rover Discovery II Series vehicle starting making this winding noise thought the power steering pump was going out so I replaced it didn't stop the noise someone suggested that it was the A/C compressor clutch don't know what to do. Also, the 4-Wheel Drive gear shift will not come out of 4H. Could you please offer me suggestions on what to do. Thank You.

Last time mine did that it was from the front Differential, check if there is oil in it, also check the seals on it.

Power steering pump on 2001 land rover disco ii makes a laboring noise when I turn the wheel as well as there is a leak somewhere in the system. I had the hoses replaced a month ago, but there is still a...

The noise is because the oil level is low and the pump is reverburating. Look at the bottom of the steering box, its usually the lower oil seal that leaks. If it is the steering box , then i suggest you take it to a mechanic to replace the seal, because to remove the drag link arm is very difficult without proper pullers.
