Were do I find the thermostat on my 1994 nissan altima to replace it?

Here is a diagram showing where the thermostat is located on a 1994 Nissan Altima. Most vehicles are fairly similar as well the main water hose that goes to the engine is usually right next to or attached to the thermostat housing. Also once you take this hose off to get the thermostat you are going to need the bleed the coolant system because there will be air in the system. A simple google search or wikihow will show you exactly how to bleed air out with pictures and simple instructions. Good luck.

has blown out (2) radiators in one week what causing this?

Hello and welcome to Fixya, there can only be a few things happening here with your vehicle which could cause this problem.I would make sure the thermostat is opening and closing this is fairly simple to do on a cougar locate the thermostat housing remove the thermostat and make sure it hasn't seized up the spring should go up and down not getting stuck at all. If it doesn't want to move replace it because it is no longer working.Normal cost is around $8. that will cause radiator to overheat because coolant cannot be transferred from engine to radiator properly and the radiator is over working thus too much pressure in it causing it to crack or leak.if thermostat checks out OK.Make sure you have no leaks from hoses and all the hoses are connected. refill radiator with proper coolant start vehicle and continue to fill system and reservoir. make sure not to use any cold water when refilling radiator as this may cause it to crack. If your problem still exist verify with local dealer parts dept that you are using the correct part #(correct radiator) if OK. I would then have the system pressure checked at local radiator repair facility. I hope this solves your issue. much success and good luck. Please Rate Me.
