My left headlight door

If you open the hood, behind the headlight assembly you will see the motor that lifts the headlight, there is a knob that you can rotate to manually to crank up the headlight until you repair it.

Before you put it up manually, turn on the headlights with the hood open and listen to see of the motor is making noise, if it is you can try a repair kit, otherwise get a replacement from the auto part store or junk yard.

Here is a handy place for Fiero parts including the headlight repair kit I mentioned:

Hope this helps

Where is the neutral starter safety switch located in 88 fiero

Assuming that it's an automatic. the neutral safety switch is mounted to the top of the transmission. on a stock Fiero, if you look down into the engine bay, on the driver's side, it's right on top. You can identify it by the row of wires coming out of it.

1986 Pontiac Fiero tachometer is registering

This could be a bad tachometer signal filter. Here is an inexpensive replacement. https://www.wc-autoparts.com/tachometer-signal-filter-camaro-firebird-fiero-corvette-gm-gmc-truck-monte-carlo/ Pretty easy to install. The OEM signal filter have resistors and capacitors that dry out and go bad after 20 years. GM placed signal filter on most of there vehicles between the mid 1970's and the early 1990's. The other item to check is the tachometer circuit board. They go bad as well. 1986 Fiero: my e brake on my 85 fiero is stuck and i need it t...

It probably got stuck from lack of use/lubrication. But if your lever is also stuck up it could be a function of the actual lever action. I'm assuming you tried pushing the button in to release the lever?

Step 1) Get a haynes manual if you own a fiero, VERY valuable tool

Step 2) Check the physical action of the lever, is the lever not releasing down because of the lever itself? --> frozen/rusted? something physically blocking it on the floor of the car? Or is it not releasing due to the cable tension?

It's been awhile since I looked at it, but there should be a way to take the cover off of the lever to see the cable come into the shaft from underneath the car. Follow this cable to the rear of the car where it goes to the driver side rear brake caliper, then across the car to the passenger side caliper. You can adjust the tension for the cable using the nuts on the cable.

Also, there is a spring on each caliper that is supposed to put tension on the cable when pulled, so when released the cable returns to driving position and thus releases the brakes. Are these springs missing?

Are the brakes engaged because of the e-brake being stuck?

If you are in a pinch and need to use your car and can't because the brakes are on due to a stuck e-brake, it's not smart and can be illegal in your state, but you could just cut the e-brake cable. Should be pretty easy to do where it meets the lever on the inside of the car.

I have a 87 fiero

For what I can see you need a tune-up - spray fuel cleaner into the throttle body directly don't let the rpm drop too much but very close to stall. The engine must be normal temp around thermostat opening. This part of the job needs to be done with the old spark plugs. - spark plugs + adjusting gap of the new ones - compression test.(no more differences between each cylinder +- 25 psi) - clean throttle body and IAC valve. Don't forget to change the fuel filter. That should solve your problems. hope it helps
