2000 Toyota Avalon - Page 2 Questions & Answers
I replaced my steering column to my 2000 Toyota avalon got the key programmed but my car won't start
If the work was done correctly and the key correctly programmed it would seem the car developed an unrelated fault sometime during the replacement. That isn't impossible but it is a bit unlikely so the chances are greater there is either something wrong with the work or doing the work has created a new fault or the key programming wasn't good.
I suggest you revisit the work and double check everything as a first step.
What size allen socket for the transmission plug?
The socket 10 MM should fit into the bolt recess fairly well so make sure it bottoms before turning the ratchet. You could use a Torx 55 male socket if your hex is rounded or rusted. Always replace the gasket on the drain plug as well to save yourself the heartache of having to drain again if it leaks.
Overheating
It is normal for an engine to rise and fall about 40 degrees when it is running stopped and moving. Make sure that the coolant is the right mixture.
Toyota Avalon Rear View Mirror
Hi-,
I had the same problem - the inside rear view mirror fell off during a hot summer day. I bought the mirror glue (adhesive) and wondered how to I separate the metal button from the mirror. Enventally, I tried the following and successully separated the metal button from the mirror: There is a little squre slot on the plastic sheath of the metal button. Please find a small flat-ned screw driver whose tip can fit into the sqare hole. put the screw driver into the hole and put it all the way inside down - which will open a little bended metal piece that stops the buttom; at the mean time, slide the metal button towards outside. As the bended metal piece opened uder the pressure of the screw driver, the metal button is freely moveable and can be slide out.
I did this successfully for my Toyota Avalon 1998 car.
Hope it helps.
