2004 Kia Amanti - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Sounds like you have fuel pump issues. May need to replace the fuel pump. Does the check engine or service engine soon lights come on? That or maybe injectors, or something alone the fuel system line. First check would be fuel pump.

Question edited for clarity and typos. Question moved to model category. My first thought was a flat battery. Then I had another thought because the key won't go to the last start position. If the vehicle is an automatic, the car thinks you are in Drive or Reverse. Get in the car, foot on the brake and rack through all the gears a couple of times and back to Park. Try again. door lock silinoid is bad or needs lube

Replace the battery in your remote/fob.

please make sure you take it to a good mechanic ( MECHANIC ELECTRICIAN ) that specialized on electrical only

If you have to ask how, you probably can't do it. If you insist on trying, purchase a repair manual (Haynes, Motor, Chilton, etc) from your local auto parts store.

on a 2004, I wouldn't bother I would trade it in personally.

Was the battery unhooked recently, Alternator or battery could be faulty, you can check them with a digital meter. What do the fuses do? If the car has an electric throttle connection then there's your problem. Get an auto electrician or good home mechanic to help trace the fault. Look on the fuse box or drivers handbook to see what those fuses do and go from there. Don't keep putting fuses or larger fuses in the box because you could start a fire.

Since battery died we know it wasnt getting voltage on the road
Or it was getting it intermitently
The alternator can pass tests intermitently
When checked
The best old fasioned way of testing alternator run vehicle disconnect from battery positve side
Let run if power drop or car stops alternator needs replaced
Battery is only good for starting a vehicle
All other power like accessories comes from a transformer in vehicle that stores voltage
Youll see in car a second bar with ground and power going to it this is your transformer do not jump accross transformer
Other then mentioned above routine maintenance is needed

If it bothers you you can bring it to mechanics and they will plug in computer and turn it off.

Try anothr key or hav ign lock inspectd

pull lever a little so you can remove cable from the retainer and using a pliers or tool grab cable and pull back on cable (lot of cables stretch ) if broken cable will slide easy if not should release latch when opened adjust and lube latch
