Question edited for clarity and typos. Question moved to model category. My first thought was a flat battery. Then I had another thought because the key won't go to the last start position. If the vehicle is an automatic, the car thinks you are in Drive or Reverse. Get in the car, foot on the brake and rack through all the gears a couple of times and back to Park. Try again. Replace the battery in your remote/fob.

please make sure you take it to a good mechanic ( MECHANIC ELECTRICIAN ) that specialized on electrical only

If you have to ask how, you probably can't do it. If you insist on trying, purchase a repair manual (Haynes, Motor, Chilton, etc) from your local auto parts store.

Was the battery unhooked recently, Alternator or battery could be faulty, you can check them with a digital meter. If it bothers you you can bring it to mechanics and they will plug in computer and turn it off.

Try anothr key or hav ign lock inspectd

pull lever a little so you can remove cable from the retainer and using a pliers or tool grab cable and pull back on cable (lot of cables stretch ) if broken cable will slide easy if not should release latch when opened adjust and lube latch

Replace the CKP (Crankshaft Position) Sensor. Your car cannot tell that you are trying to start it, because it does not see RPM's from CKP sensor. Common problem.

check your aps sensor,accelarator position sensor if its bad and make sure all connector and wire from this sensor to ecu is good,.

I've dealt with this vapor-lock issue in multiple ways. One was to put an aspirin in the thermostat to hold it open. When disolved it would work properly. But want it open for a bit so that coolant can flow. The other was to squeeze the radiator hoses to push coolant and work air into radiator so it could come to top of radiator. Another is to simply run it till warms up, shut it down and ad coolant to the reservoir.

Take the battery to a Good car parts store for under load testing! This will test the battery.

Change the CKP sensor.

Pull one of the battery cables off for a couple of minutes and then put it back on. This should reset the light.

The thermostat is shot, it is not opening up properly to let the engine maintain it's optimum operating temperature. If you go to a mechanic have him look at the thermostat.

I don't have much experience with Kia but typically a key light is an immobilizer problem. If the key light is intermittant and coincides with the non start, that is probably it.

This sounds like the antitheft transponder that sits around the ignition key that picks up you code from the key, when you put your key into the ignition does the light go off on the dash board if not the that what your trouble is the light should go out as soon as you put the key in and turn it, if this is the problem sometimes if your lucky take the steering shaft shroud off and move the little cables about that go into the ring that fits around the ignition switch and it may work if not a new transponder is required. I have known this little trick to work. Best of uck
