No, you do not need to drain the radiator coolant to change the thermostat in a Kia Amanti. Simply locate the thermostat housing, remove the bolts securing it to the engine, and replace the thermostat. Be sure to properly refill the radiator coolant afterwards.

Check that the cylinder head is not blowing - Top up the radiator then rev the engine up and down - if water gushes out or if a lot of bubbles appear, youi most likley have a cylinder head or head gasket problem

Hitting the emergency brake's has nothing to with the brake lights on the back of the vehicle , you had to have this problem before an just didn't notice . Are all the brake lights lit ? High mount lamps too.. ? The regular one's are controlled by a BCM - body computer .

Have you checked all your fuses ? If they are all good, check power to the fan it self. If no power, you may have a had power wire or maybe a bad resister or motor. Remove harness connector from the motor and check to see if you have power at that end, if yes, then your motor may be bad. To verify motor, just connect power and ground wires directly to the motor, if it runs, you have a wiring problem or bad resister. If it does not run, bad motor.

it sounds like you need the steering pump drive belt adjusting slightly, it would appear to be slipping when the pump is under pressure of operation
